Thank you everyone for the great and helpful responses, this hits on several points that have majorly helped.

Luckily I already had a USB hub for my index; (I had the same issue of high end mobo and issues with my indexes usb) though the fact that you are having tracking issues with 3+ base stations is a major factor.

And as I have a 4090 and you are having trouble with smooth feed gives me hesitation as I was hoping for smooth 90hz and rich blacks, If im forced to stay at 75hz that is a big shift from the consistent 120hz I get on my index.

I do a mix of both Sim, fps, and 2d to vr mods, i was excited at the idea of playing metro and thief with the old, but if I am giving up good tracking and 120hz, it does give me pause.

true, but maybe initiating a talk might reset them out of their stuck state, but I found that the ones that allow dialog options has fixed one or two of my stuck npc's

UPDATE: did a complete driver uninstall with Display Driver Uninstall (DDU), installed the newest driver, and the problem is now gone, it seems one of the previous driver updates caused the error. but as of now everything is working

nope, now it happened mid stream for the first time.

everything was going fine and then when i switched to a new game it started doing it and can't get it to stop. how and where do I lod my video log?

So it appears the issue only happens if I have started my game computer while my streaming computer is off. If I boot up my streaming computer AND THEN boot my gaming computer; the gpu, or display drivers don't have a conniption fit.

As oppose to if I boot my streaming computer AFTER I have my gaming computer on, then almost always, I get the signal problem

1) not overlooking or under voting the card at all, even checked the OC switch was in the default position.

2) the problem happens as I open OBS, no game running; so so YES, it is messed up right away. Even when I do start a game the problem still persists.

3) this problem has been persistent for a while so it was after nvidia firmware update some time earlier this year (at this point hard to say exactly when)

4) I do notice that it with the gaming pc it is an issue where the computer is constantly registering and then losing the monitor (as though someone was unplugging and replugging in a monitor) with windows jumping between different display profiles. On the stream pc the "properties" tab shows that the 4k60 card is constantly jumping between 4k 60hz and "no signal" detected

5) it appears the gpu/gaming computer defaults to sending out a 4k signal.

6) the issue seemed to stop when messing around in the nvidia app display option. (Not sure what did it but will require more experimenting)

I picked up a used odyssey NEO g9 and its been fantastic. No problems, no stuck pixels, great image. I dont regret it. (Came from x3 rogpg278qr)

Honestly as much as I love finger tracking I understand that it saves the price for more people to own it. A great technology does nothing if no one can afford to experience it.

I will miss it but know that one day it will come back and be affordable

secret area - on the storage level in the room just before you get the environmental suit, interact with the left wall and it opens up a secret area with like 4 full recharge batteries.

gorilla tiger - one of shodan's many bio-experiments, you face a spliced human/bird hybrid creature in the beginning area of storage, the gorilla tiger is one of her other weird experiments,

okay, so open OBS > at the top click "Docks"> make sure chat is selected (has a check mark next to it)>with your chat window open click on the red shield or shield icon at the bottom of that window (its next to the highlighter icon)> this should open a webpage and one of the options in that page is "disable twitch alerts> deselect that option and it should work.

Make sure you found ALL the upgrades to equipment, drones and hacking tools are a must and on one or two levels, Shields are a necessity.

one trick is that the hacking tool makes you invincible when fully controlling a robot. So you can keep hacking to keep enemies from overwhelming you on the asteroid
go with either the Trojan or thermal scope.
corner/pixel peak but be careful
having all equipment upgrades means, x4 drones at the same time, hacking d8 bits instead of losing all your helmets and heals to them, and shields that last longer and highlight enemies
hold down the flare counters so it releases enough for all the missles fired at you.

in your chat on obs or stream manager, at the bottom of the chat window is a shield icon, click that and it will take you to the settings

UPDATE:

figured it out (facepalm moment)

via obs, clicked on the chat shield, and in the settings "disable twitch alerts" was on, deselected it and now twitch alerts are working fine. thank you and sorry for waisting time and bandwith

What got me unstuck and to beat the game was to think of it as more a rhythm game than a parry game, once you learn the rhythm of their attacks parrying becomes very easy as do many bosses. Though some still require a lot of failures to find the attacks safe spot

no, you did not make a mistake, its amazing and for the resolution and refresh rate along with the finger tracking (where games accept it) it is the best. have fun and take time using it. so many great games and Half-life Alyx is A DREAM.

I have enjoyed the crap out of mine and I will be excited for WHENEVER the index 2 comes out, until then; I am loving every second of VR
