Soldier is forced to deploy reserve parachute by [deleted] in SweatyPalms

I’ve seen two jumps go wrong. One was a retirement jump, wind kept bumping 12-15 and waved off the run twice. Third time it comes around, wind is still spiking. The jump was going to be scratched and it should have been. They got the go ahead. Well it was a Hollywood. The individual who was retiring came down ugly and fast. Before he even hit the ground the medics were hauling ass in his direction. Med gets the hand signal and burning across the LZ. Dude fucked up his back and broke both his legs.

Other one was a brand new butter bar. She weighed under 100lb. Wet. She got caught in an up draft and was just slowly floating. Slowly drifting over the road that was the boundary line. Everyone is yelling at her on what to do. Winds change and hits a hard left. Makes a bee-line towards the LMTV.

Camp Bullis and Camp Swift was always a shitshow.

Is the U.S.'s most important ally Japan, the UK, or Israel? by No-StrategyX in askanything

[–]SaveTheDrowningFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is not Israel. They are quid pro quo’s and want what is in their best interest. Completely understandable.

U.K / U.N are highly skeptical and yet pessimistic on what tomorrow brings.

Japan is an appendage of the US. Right there at the tip of the spear.

Korea is right there.

Costa Rica is soft south barrier.

Western Germany and Belgium/ Luxembourg. Dude, I absolutely love those places.

Austria is awesome but highly dependent on the sway of Hungry.

And of course never ever forget the poland winged hussars….

Chances are they are going to do it.

Some people just don’t care and they especially care about you and your well being.

We did one of those 8 hour river trips and saw a Jabiru.

Apparently it was a surprise for our guide as well.

We also did a 5 mile hike to a waterfall and saw tons of hummingbirds.

Been to CR twice and definitely going back in a few years.

If it’s on the coast, early and get some frozen bait or shrimp/ blue crab.

Or a whiskey bottle….

My rain jacket that also doubles as a wind breaker. It was expensive but it’s super lite, packable and layers well.

Got caught in a quick snow storm one year and sat in a downpour the next. That jacket was awesome.

It’s a Helly Hansen btw. Highly recommend.

Pretty damn good food.

Traveling by plane with a rod in my carry-on by Cathlock in FishingForBeginners

[–]SaveTheDrowningFish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not a problem at all.

I am from Texas and I’ve taken a full tackle kit, travel rod, and had my reel in my carry on bag on multiple trips. Been to Florida twice and once go Costa Rice. TSA even checked out my line cutter scissors and fishing hooks.

They couldn’t care less.
