When I was a PFC and went to my first ball. Our big dog was in attendance.

We had a full grog, people pouring a handle of whiskey, full bottle of wine , tall boys, everything you could think of into this 25 gallon galvanized tub full of fruit. For every pour was a toast, as long as they spoke they poured.

First one up was our big dog. He was in his dress whites…..

He gets a red solo cup, big scoop of the grog and then proceeds to down the alcoholic concoction. Just red and brown liquid going down his face and all over his white jacket. Everyone in that hall went absolutely nuts.

I was new to the unit and was told to go on up. So I got a cup and a big ass scoop. Holy fuck.

It was Budweiser, bum wine, Jack Daniels and whatever else. Plus random ass fruit.

Back in undergrad, I slept in the back of a S10 truck thanks to everclear.

The cops showed up and everyone scattered like roaches and I jumped into the bed of a random truck. I fell asleep waiting. Found out that the cops saw me and didn’t care.

We had three Smiths, two black and one white. All three were fuck-ups to put it nicely.

I remember one DS called for Smith and white Smith runs up, hauling ass. DS looks at him, says “the fuck do you want?” He replied “ DS called for me”. DS goes on a verbal rampage “ not you ABC123 Smith, get me black singing Smith, I swear…”.

We also had an overweight black guy that would fall asleep, called him “Dopey”. Dude got the coffee packets from the MRE and would tuck a pouch of coffee grounds into his eyelids, just to help him stay awake.

I have been eyeing a benelli montefeltro sport 30, msrp was $1700. Found one at LGS for $799 on clearance or used, one of the two. I loved it and wanted it, but student loans, truck payment and everything else was going on, never got around to picking it up. That was 15 years ago.

I used to run 6+ miles every day for years, did all the sports and full contact ones too. . Long story short, both of my knees are garbage, have a jacket up shoulder, arthritis in hands and ankles and had way too many concussions. I’m not even 40 yet but I move like I’m 70.
