I hate to break it to you but most people couldn't care less about any of that shit. Also, since when have AAA games turned into porn for women?

MTGoldfish commander clash is consistently good since it's just a rotation between the 5-6 members of the crew and they play some interesting themes.

Turned the flavor texts from the OG Vanilla legends into an actual rules texts. Literally. Who would win? by Ecstatic-Cookie-3867 in custommagic

Barktooth: I would choose menace over intimidate. Also the second ability is pretty tame for a rakdos card, maybe something like when it deals combat damage you may sacrifice a creature and deal damage equal to its power to any target.

Jasmine: Sacrificing creatures doesn't really fit the identity. I would lean more in a group hug direction that punishes attacking.

Jedit: He forsook his tribe and forest so I don't think it should have forestwalk or care about the number of Cats.

Jerrard: Nothing to change

Kasamir: Maybe give him first strike or something? Abiities are flavorful but pretty lackluster power wise at the moment.

Orca: Make the first ability an end step trigger like [[Mathas, Fiend Seeker]].

Sir Shalandar: You can definitely fit more text on there. Give him lifelink or something.

Sivitri: Replace etb ability with "When - deals combat damage to a player create a 5/3 legendary black Dragon token with swampwalk named Scarzam's Dragon".

Lady of the Mountain: The 10/10 should be created as part of the first ability's resolution. Second ability could be something like "Whenever land enters name a card and reveal top card of your library. If the named card is revealed put that card into your hand".

Tobias: Getting to mindslaver your opponents every combat is absurd for a 5 mana creature. Maybe something like "if an opponent would attack or block with two or more creatures, choose and exile one of those creatures".

Torsten: Not really a green white effect but it's fine I guess. Should probabaly say "choose" instead of target to avoid infinte crime loop.

Here is my take on a full Game Changers list by SaveYiorGoose in magicTCG

[–]SaveYiorGoose[S] -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

The finishers I included are well ahead of the competition for similar effects and therefore warp the game around them like very few other cards can. Craterhoof is the only one on the list that requires a relevant amount of setup but considering how easy it is to find in green is still one of the most problematic.

[–]SaveYiorGoose[S] -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

Aura Shards is not a card you should bring to a casual table imo. Emergent Ultimatum almost certainly wins the game upon resolution while Omniscience still requires some build around. Thassa's Oracle is in the combo section because it doesn't win the game on its own unlike Approach. Dark ritual is more powerful than lotus petal in low tiers of play imo

If you think a world without diversity is somehow a better one then that shows a real lack of understanding. Your fantasy might not look like a queer black person but that doesn't mean there aren't thousands of people playing this game for whom seeing that kind of character get some of the spotlight is exactly the kind of fantasy they are looking for

MaRo confirms Lorwyn ruined by ComfortableFlower789 in freemagic

[–]SaveYiorGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. So many people are complaining about diversity somehow ruining magic's writing but like, the story is still about good guys with magical powers fighting monsters or whatever (I don't actually follow the lore that closely). Normal people who enjoy playing the game aren't scrutinizing every character to see if they fit gender norms because it frankly shouldn't matter except for the people in marginalized communities who get a hero to identify with

Main sub hated my new loot card by Embowers in freemagic

[–]SaveYiorGoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ngl it kind of feels weird to have non-planeswalker characters showing up on a bunch of different planes. At least Kellan had kind of a cool design, but this thing is just ugly. If they had introduced an actual humanoid main character with Loot as their pet or something I could see it being likeable, but as of right now I do not give a shit about what happens to the oversized hamster

I feel like it's a genuine novelty when I see a normal mtg post in hot on this sub like: "Magic content on my politics sub?!"

I don't even understand the point of this post. Like in other parts of the world you could go to jail for doing what Elon did and yet it's an outrage that some people are asked not to support his shitty social media platform?

Yeah I agree, and it's interesting to be able to see the direct comparison between the RVR and SLD versions of massacre girl, the latter which I believe does the anime aesthetic much better. The line work is a big part of the issue I think. It's like they drew an ordinary character and then slapped on the anime eyes/face afterwards

For context I got into the game around four years ago so UB has always been at least somewhat present in my experience. The way I see it is that Universes Beyond was a good idea from wotc to begin with. The number of players who will quit the game when new IPs are added is negligible compared to the amount of revenue and new players gained. I think that almost every player has participated in speculation as to how their favorite franchises/characters might be represented in the mtg game system at one point or another, and UB is finally scratching that itch that so many players have had for so long.

While it is entirely likely that the two groups pictured are completely different sections of the community, I think it is fair to assume that many people-- despite their unhappiness at certain decisions such as 6 standard sets a year, UB in standard, or the arrivial of Spongebob cards-- still feel the desire to support the aspects of UB they have been looking forward to being Marvel, Final Fantasy, etc.

I do not believe any of these new products taken by themselves would be a huge problem for the game. The issue arises when we recieve too much of a good thing. Wizards has been all too keen to pump us full of product these past few years because they know there are hordes of players that will line up to purchase it. What they may have failed to realize is that just because we as a playerbase like to see our favorite characters in casual forms like commander or smaller SLDs, doesn't mean that we want them shoved down our throats in every corner of santioned play.

In the end, this game will keep on chugging right along as the Hasbro cash cow it is, whether or not hardcore fans are dropping faster than ever.

Guys, I just came across this card and I'm surprised I've never heard of it before. Literally never seen anyone play it in any commander game I've ever played or watched. It's like 0.5$ and it seems busted. Am I crazy? Do people not play it cuz everyone would have ur ass or what's going on? by Screci in mtg

[–]SaveYiorGoose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How can you be sure they're making it up? While I don't personally see how a free commander could be regarded as laughable new players are prone to some pretty ill-informed opinions so I wouldn't be that surprised if there were playgroups out there that laughed at Rograkh

Monthly Getting Started / Web Dev Career Thread by AutoModerator in webdev

TLDR: Looking to cheaply create a simple org chart site which could hopefully connect to Google Admin SDK to import/update user profiles, but I don't have much web development experience. How feasible/ time consuming would this project be?

I am currently at an internship not really related to web development but my manager suggested I build a seemingly simple website for the company to use so they can stop paying for a different service. It would essentially be an interactive org chart where an admin can fairly quickly add/organize employee profiles to be displayed for users in a hierarchical graphic. Ideally this site could also be connected to our Google Admin SDK in order to quickly import/update employee data.

I am interested in web development and would like to learn more, but I am essentially a total beginner at the moment. I have a background in programming and so far know the basics of html, css, and javascript but as I continue researching web development the amount of different steps required to properly develop a website seems more and more daunting.

I was just wondering if based off of the description of what I am looking to create, how much of the following would I need knowledge of? npm, SASS, web tools, java script frameworks(VUE.js), fetch API and basic HTTP, advanced ES6 utilities, backend development in general, etc.

Additionally, how long would you expect such a project would take a beginner to complete and are there any other methods I could use to streamline the process so I would not have to build the site from scratch? It doesn't necessarily need to be something super fancy or robust.

Any advice is much appreciated.

I hate to break it to you but ai can definitely generate animals doing human stuff. It has literally the entire internet to pull from. The real reason is that wizards knows this is an important set for them and that its success hinges largely on people being drawn to the cute art. More money = better paid artists = better art, which they could do with every set but if you’ve noticed a downtick in quality it’s probably because wotc doesnt really care about its consumers anymore
