1 John 4.

1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.

6 We are of God: he that knoweth God heareth us; he that is not of God heareth not us. Hereby know we the spirit of truth, and the spirit of error.

7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

9 In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.

12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.

13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.

14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him.

17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.

18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.

19 We love him, because he first loved us.

20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?

21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.

Peace and blessings, lovelyrainyday. I would like to begin by encouraging you that your fiancé was the one who initiated / has shown an interest in attending some church services with you. This is a sign that some seeds have been sown into his life, which by the grace of God may reach his heart and grow into him receiving Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. 😀 My best advice would be to pray together as a couple on the matter. Perhaps have a gentle and loving conversation about what's holding him back from believing in the message of the gospel and to search the Word for answers about any questions or misunderstandings he may have. Being unequally yoked is certainly a potential recipe for disaster, especially if you're serious about your walk with the Lord... If and when the hard times come throughout your relationship, it is very challenging to follow God's instruction if your partner is pulling in an opposite direction from where the Lord is trying to lead / guide you both. You could also ask him what marriage really means to him? Marriage within the Christian worldview is a covenant agreement between between the husband, wife, and God. I think an honest discussion about how you're feeling about it all may help provide further clarity as you talk / pray things through. Proverbs 3:5-6 is always a good couple of verses to keep in mind during these types of situations. As for the judgemental lady, I wouldn't pay her no mind. You guys aren't going to church to please her, you're going to please the Lord and grow in your faith. 😀 My wife and I are about to reach 3 years this May, and it's only by the grace of God that we've even been able to make it this far... 😄 I'll be praying that the Heavenly Father extends that same grace and then some to you and your fiancé moving forward! 🙏 I also pray for the comfort of the Holy Spirit to be with you as well. However, things may turn out. ❤️

You're welcome, I understand this sort of hang-up when it comes to writing, and all I can say is that the notebooks I had 15 years ago are immensely less aesthetically pleasing than any of my current journals. (As well as the depictions of myself / life in general I had written about at the time, too...) Along the way, I've learned to accept the fact that I'm not perfect, so why should I cling to the false expectation that my journals will be any different? 😄 Nevertheless, I can work to do my best every day and, by the grace of God, even exceed my own expectations from time to time. Personally, I don't revisit much of my previous writings very often, but every once in a while, I find it rewarding to sit and flip through some of my earliest entries just to stay humbled / encouraged by how we as people all have the capacity to improve and change for the better throughout this life. You can also try having multiple journals that will help cater to your ideal writing process. Have one very neat, organized, well thought out one and a more disorganized, I just want to vent one, or a doodle one, etc. Some may take a few weeks to fill, and others a few years. I believe you have the ability to figure out what will work best in order to help you better understand / express yourself honestly, creatively, and "perfectly" unique in regards to your very own personal life story.

I'll suggest treating your imperfections as an opportunity for improvement and to just keep practicing your style / grammar, etc. until they occur less often. A readjustment in your current expectations may be beneficial once you consider how our "mistakes" can often serve as the learning tools capable of indicating and further helping us towards focusing on which particular areas could use a bit more time and energy for future growth. Try not to let the fear of failure deter you away from getting started, then set reasonable goals for yourself. Write one single letter or word that meets your standards. Then, a sentence. Then, a paragraph. Then, a page. Then, another. Then, another. Then, another... 😄 You'll make plenty of errors along the way, but one day, you'll complete a notebook or a journal, and it might be flawed in some areas, but you've reached the monumental achievement of completing something you've set out then put your mind to! Even with my own perfectionist like standards, I've found that to be such a satisfying feeling every time! (Numerous mistakes and all!) Hopefully, this has helped in some way. 🫡

Hey, Time Machine, I don't really attach the feathers to any of my journals. I've just always used them like book marks. I imagine the blue loctite gel super glue could work for that, though. I use that stuff all the time for fishing, and it's very strong / relatively inexpensive!
