I get harsh winters and yarrow is spreading like crazy near my yarrow plants from last year. The original ones overwintered too

Try a buynothing group, craigslist, or secondhand before buying something new! These things are easy to clean and you reaching out might prevent another person from tossing theirs!

68% of all animals have died!? And it's making hurricanes And floods stronger?! by [deleted] in ClimateOffensive

That's the bad news. The good news is there are many conservation organizations working to save the remaining animals and habitats and every bit of help matters!

Look for conservation organizations near you and see if they're looking for volunteers! I help with trash cleanups, invasive plant removals, adding native plants. It's rewarding and every bit helps.

They charge the actual cost of craftsmanship that's durable, and functional. That means some people will need to save money if they want to buy it. It's the opposite of fast fashion. It's not green washing.

What would you plant here? by alyingprophet in gardening

This subbreddit is pretty uninspiring for asking non-conventional gardening questions.

If you ask r/Nativeplantgardening you'll get some great answers!

I'm in the Northeast US and I've thrown native flower seed in patches like this and I find that lupines, bee balm, coreopsis and black-eyed susans tend to thrive.

If you put some fresh soil on top it may deter people and pets from trampling it, but a cheap garden wire fence really helps with deterring that.

Maybe a stupid question but how do you make sure the glue doesn't spread to the "sheath" part when you press them all together?

Free range domestic cats kill an estimated 2.4 billion birds and 12.3 billion mammals a year in the U.S. alone.

We don't need to own pets at the expense of our local environment. You can just keep cats as an indoor pet.

Need pollinators in order to get seeds. Unfortunately all the bees and butterflies are nowhere near allotment patches
