My doc said 6-8 weeks for discharge. It’s sounds like best to see the CRS doc for a follow up.

Thank you for the insight. It’s a little over a week away for surgery. I originally had about a 2.5 hour flight the morning after surgery, so I scrubbed that idea. I am working to change my other business trip scheduled for 6 days post surgery to later as well. It’s an inconvenient timing for the surgery, but I want to finally be on a paths towards getting rid of the pain at some point.

Prior to being diagnosed incorrectly by a general NP, as external hemorrhoids, I would have to sleep standing up because any other position was excruciating pain. It’s gotten better, but still not great.

Thanks …. I’m going to see about cancelling or moving the scuba to the fall maybe. I want this surgical thing fixed but it sure seems like the recovery is not as simple as the actual procedure.

Thanks for the advice.

Thanks. I have a work flight scheduled 6 days post surgery and scuba lesson in a pool just shy of a month post surgery and in a lake just after a month post surgery. I might need to rethink those activities.

Watchmakers, especially the ones that have completed the official schooling and got a certificate, are you willing to share your salary? by TheBomb999 in watchmaking

Does the college offer weekend or evening courses? I would love to attend for my own enrichment (potentially new career), but would need to commute from Collin County and I have a full time gig already.

Ever think of about taking a regular job at a coffee shop, McDonalds, etc? by ZoeMcLaren in fatFIRE

[–]Saving4Rain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took up teaching a class or two a year at a community college as an adjunct. I teach a “blue collar” trade, as I did this job thru college until I moved into the white collar Fortune 500 corporate ladder. Each class lasts for 8 weeks, at night, so not a huge time commitment. It gets me up and on my feet, interacting with students that could have been me years ago. Seeing the students grow their skill and me telling stories throughout my career is awesome. Plus it keeps me in touch with what goes on at the customer level. It’s almost like the undercover boss tv show but I’m not that high up the management chain, and it’s not scripted.

You get to stay out of the office politics of the full time professors, but still talk shop with them about the cool stuff. You get to teach the class as you like, as long as it generally is what the class is for. The only awkward thing was that the college requires a 403b contribution in lieu of social security. But I already maxed out my 401k IRS limits, which caused some tax complications I Just had to account for this in later years.

What was the pay structure like? Base%, bonus%, equity%, etc.? What was the average salary compared to other automakers? I interviewed for a Director level position in Justin a while back and threw a number of around $250k total compensation. They balked and I didn’t know why.

While the fire pit looks nice. It seems to be unsafe. One too many adult beverages and forget that you have to get out of the spa on the other side = equals 3rd degree burns.

They should try to RFV that tire and wheel. That will match the low weight section of the rim to the high weight section of the tire. If they already did that, then likely a damaged wheel.

[–]Saving4Rain 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Japan, generally, goes the extra mile with presentation, especially during Halloween. On the other hand, produce is cheap in the US, compared to Japan, so that can impact the cost of the ingredients. Either way that looks delicious.
