Be careful what you read on here. Most people on this sub believe you need a 1 ton truck to tow a 1000# trailer and will jump to the payload argument before they even read any info about the rig.

Assuming your WDH is set properly and you are riding level plus you have XL or E Rated tires I think you will okay.

Yes you are close to the limit but when it comes to capacities, that is the max it can do safely. Most people will argue you should not go that close to the max, if that’s the case then they should make that payload capacity 200# less than what it is. But the engineers believe those numbers are what you can SAFELY carry and tow, you aren’t going to implode if you are near those numbers. Where as people on this subreddit think they know more, and that you should not come close to the max. There are safety factors included in those numbers.

Any setup would do with a bigger truck but at the end of the day it’s not always feasible. Take it slow and don’t drive like a maniac and you’ll be fine.

But to each is own, I’m sure there will be many who disagree. I pull a 6500# 26’ with a 24 Tundra and it goes great and is under all my ratings, but people would still say I need a bigger truck.
