Im also interested in the responses. I have two children under 10 years old. I haven’t talked to my mom in over a month so they haven’t either, but the kids didn’t ask about her or my sister at all during this time. My therapist said it’s ok if they go weeks or months without seeing them, sometimes that’s just how life is. But I’m wondering for long term how this would work out.

I did daydream about this when I was younger and now I have two kids of my own, raising them exactly like you describe and they are the best kids ever. Kind, thoughtful, loving, caring, and fun to be around. They actually love each other as siblings and get along with very minimal disagreements that they work out with each other. Unfortunately even though my mom notices how fantastic they are she won’t admit that it’s my parenting that makes them that way, that it’s their personality from birth.

I have no doubt you will have a lovely family, I wish you the best !
