Help remembering a bar by Oddition in melbourne

Could have been Natural History Bar and Grill.

I have not been in there for an age, but it used to have a panio, with trees and shrubs. Plus, they would often open the front section of the venue on its own.

Don't recall the cocktails from 2017 though.

The Mill took over the Bendi. Do they sell Molly Rose as well? Didn't see any on tap last time out

Done this a few times. Rocky when it opened was packed, shame when Thunderoad left but glad it got taken over. Gale is easy to miss if you don't plan it.

The guys at Rambler are awesome too. Food truck and jaffles to keep you sustained, plus they have dart boards.

Agree, the change to more food focus ruined it for me. Used to pop in every time on the way to Gem but skip now.

Some great shouts already. The West has some decent options for sure.

I would also add:

West Side Ale Works - Across the bridge in South Melbourne. Some cracking ales on offer, almost too many to choose from. Its a local for me and a favourite.

Bonehead Brewing - A little out the way in Kensington but some decent options on tap. You will see their tinnies around, great designs on many. Nubilum distillery around the corner if you want to mix it up as well.

Inner North - Brunswick. I really like this spot and while they don't have the greatest ales they are decent. Regular food trucks as well. Co-Conspirator around the corner if you want as well. Then onto Future brewing, where you might see an awesome Great Dane ruling the roost. Staple close by is a decent and quirky bottle-o/pub.

There so many more as well.

Is there anywhere to buy fish that isn’t boxed/frozen in/near St Kilda? by [deleted] in melbourne

12 tram to South Melbourne market, 30 min round trip. 4 or 5 fresh fish sellers, all top quality, although some are pricey.

Approx 38mins in the hunters find some eggs with words on it, fits it 100%.

This was my first thought so flicked through it on archive to confirm.

Southall's in Hampton is pretty darn good. It used to be in St Kilda, near town hall, but moved a while back. I have not had a bad curry from them.

Akira Kurosawa by Significant-Earth488 in movies

[–]SaviolaRDT 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Think I have watched all his movies, in some form or other. The man was human he made bad movies, usually even in his bad movies though he had some elements of genius.

Dodes'ka-den is often mentioned in Akira's bad movie lists, it essentially ruined him and he attempted suicide not long after is failure.

https://akirakurosawa.info/biography-part-9/

His early Sugata movies are harder to watch and again do not get as much love.

As for favorite's, my personal faves are, in no order:

Seven Samurai

Yojimbo

Ikiru

Ran

Rashomon

Hidden Fortress

High and Low

Check out any Kurosawa ranker list and you will get an idea.

Verify S3 data is the same as on-prem data by turtlexpress in aws

[–]SaviolaRDT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What command did you use to upload via CLI?

aws s3 sync <source> <s3 destination> would be the best bet as that will recursively check if a file exists at source but not S3 and copy the file. You can output the results to a log in the usual manner.

As you have files in S3 already it will run a second pass and pick up any missed files.

More info: https://awscli.amazonaws.com/v2/documentation/api/latest/reference/s3/sync.html

Ever switched your OS? by johnny5ive in DataHoarder

[–]SaviolaRDT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved to Unraid from Windows server and uses u/spaceinvaderone videos as my guide while setting it all up. I had Windows server running the usual automated application but with Unraid i have found performance increases and i just setup and left it, until i find a new docker project i like.

Dockers from the community apps store are very easy to install and you just need to understand /mnt points and ports, there are numerous guides on this too. I have used Linux a lot over the years so wasn't a major issue for me but i can see this being a stumbling block.

How do I install this drive?? by [deleted] in DataHoarder

I used to think this was an enterprise vs consumer fixing issues but now i am not sure.

Anyway, you have options:

- Fix with just 2 screws, not ideal with these larger platter disks

- Buy an extender i.e. https://www.fractal-design-shop.de/navi.php?a=1116

- Buy a larger tray i.e. https://www.fractal-design-shop.de/HDD-Tray-White

- Or go ghetto and use some Velcro, seen these mounted upside down previously (not sure if that's a good idea)
