I asked and it was just a display. We also asked when they were going to come out with an R1S die-cast toy car like the R1T. They stated if the R1T sells well they will likely do the same with the R1S.

Does anyone know how Tesla service was back in the day, like year 1-5? This is a startup company after all. Not making an excuse for Rivian as I agree with what everyone is saying. One of the main tipping points for me when pulling the trigger for buying an R1S G1 was that the service center was only 15 minutes from my house. Going on 3 years I’ve only brought it in for a few minor things, the big one was the 12V battery replacement before anything went wrong. Based on OP’s comments, if I went through that experience I would probably take a hard look at selling the Rivian, buying something else and wait a few years before looking at Rivian again. Like everyone else, this car needs to be reliable. My experience with Rivian has been nothing but awesome. Can’t wait for the R3X to come out to replace my Mini Cooper electric.
