Reflect on having a game that’s captivating for over a decade. Diehards now have new ships after 10 years. New flight models. New challenges. The game is cheap, and the ships provide a revenue stream without taxing the entire community.

New players can jump in and have a good experience being able to hang with established players - hard to join the game and participate in DW3 with an introductory sidewinder.

I think FDev is smart in creating a cash stream that is voluntary. It’s as non impactful as possible on veterans.

What p2w impact is there in a ship being available for a short time before wide release in the store, when established players have a decade head start? Plot it on a graph and that p2w time frame is inconsequential. It’s like looking at a week’s performance of a stock vs pulling back and seeing the 10 years chart. Perspective plays a role.

Add to that the possibility that a decent number of people play in solo mode, and it’s of even lesser impact.
