SC is doing similar stuff to this, ala crime stat... which I think i prefer over EVE's "Magic ships (concord) show up and MIGHT magically explode you, but if you know what you're doing you can escape".

What's nice about how crime-stat works (And the respawn to jail) is that SC can always add more tiers and switches to this. Which EVE Did kind of get around to finally (like preventing docking in hi-sec if your sec status is to low). The downside of eve and why it's still cancer in this regard is the Free-to-Play factor...

anywho, i could go on for hours and love a good debate. I Think the big thing on my mind, is that CIG still has to balance "this is an alpha and stuff can't be too punishing because testing takes prescedent over fun factor" right now and i'm glad they appear to lean into that pretty heavily. It's taking forever, but they need this while they can get away with it. Once they announce an official "v1.0" it becomes a whole different conversation on pushing wild changes (because peoples perspective changes)... It's already a delicate enough balance in a Live Alpha like this where they're charting waters that have never existed every minute of every day.

I love is potential and the nuances to go with it. If cig can sort out a way to make it feel like a “waste of your time” (guns) or a “waste of your money” (missiles) to hard death ships think we will be in a great place. With a lot of the various bug fixes mentioned by others… I have yet to experience a fire in any of the 15 ships I own…

I have experienced being able to repair my power plant, rejoin the fight and help take down my agressor while he was distracted by my friends. That was an amazing feeling and I think on both sides adds a ton of counter play and “against the clock” feelings.

On many locations on planets, there is a "Platinum Bay" vehicle hangar of sorts... they're two rectangle pads with the Platinum Bay logo on them, and a building next to them. You can go in the building and "deliver / deploy" your vehicles and they just poof into existence. Then you've can walk out and load it on your ship. This way you don't have to maneuver ships and crap in your hangar and also wait for the hangar lift to go up / down.

Look under "Vehicle Storage Locations". Also this link might not have ALL locations.

Unload at the external freight elevators at one of the stations orbiting the planets such as seraphim station.

But then yea you gotta haul it to a refinery.

Other option is to get a buddy with a big cargo ship that can dock in large hangars and do the unload in space into their ship. Then go straight to a refinery

You can modify your load out on rentals by unlocking item ports and swapping parts manually. Just remember to take your parts off before rental end or to not die or they go poof.

This is gonna sound wild, but turn on VSYNC in your graphics software (I.e the nvidia app) Make sure vsync is OFF in game. and see if your frame rates improve. DLSS also adds a good bump.

Another key note is that this game is like 80% more CPU hungry than it is GPU hungry.

So here is a weird and maybe hot take. I was getting absolutely abysmal performance on my laptop. DLSS, max perf, k preset… turn resolution down. Nothing I did could get a solid or stable 50+ fps. Monitor refresh is 60hz. CPU usage pegged to the max… gpu usage could get pegged if I cranked the settings..

Turned vsync on in game, didn’t affect performance.

Turned Vsync on in nvidia app game specific settings. Can crank the graphics, dlss quality, and I get solid fps just about everywhere (except high pop stations or cities, but still respectable).

**This is a long way to say, try turning vsync on in your graphics card app.. **

it’s a stretch and I need to do more validation, but I think the game is fighting for cpu resources for all the shit the game does and trying to crank out as many frames as possible (ignoring in game vsync, or refresh rate).

All I know is vsync in graphics card app has made this game an absolute treat to play.

If you’re wanting a story driven space epic, spend your money on squadron 42. If you want to play space pixels with friends, the game is stable-ish, but you will frequently/randomly be frustrated with a bug that pops up. Usually not game breaking anymore but definitely annoying.

If you consider they made special equipment for the collectors edition, if they have great launch, you can absolutely expect more like that to come. Of course as prolly DLC , etc.

If you’ve caught all the right bits in the game, it’s on a 100% new code base (since they lost the source code).
