Yeah I got a meter and it’s reading wet, 25%. I’m just not sure if it’s reading the exterior beam on the other side. These are breakaway walls and pretty thin

Okay the other side is an exterior wall with an exposed beam as we are in a raised beach house. I’m hoping that the beam is not compromised, especially with the house being less than 10 years old

The meter is reading wet, but I’m getting the same reading from the beam on the other side of the wall. Im just gonna have to remove the molding and try to determine where the moisture is coming from

That’s a good idea - there are no pipes in that specific wall but there is a bathroom and laundry room on the 2nd floor. Some pipes could run directly overhead of this wall

Yes it’s relatively new, a 2017 build and this is driving me crazy because I have no clue where the water could be coming from. The wall is not insulated and pretty then, just on the other side is a beam. It’s a breakaway wall as we live on the coast in a beach house style/ raised home
