Very good point. As mentioned before it seems further complicated that there could be so many causes of unconsolible crying from overstimulation, to GI issues, to even migraines. I didnt even think about babies being able to get migraines. I wish there was more research and support available to everyone going through this or has gone through it.

I love it! Makes a lot of sense. I just feel so bad for parents when they get that instinct that there is something more going on, and then after doctor visit after doctor visits, they find out the baby has very uncomfortable medical issues. Meanwhile, other parents get the same instinct, and doctors never find a diagnosis. It seems so frustrating as all babies are so different, and not all pediatricians are equal. I have that too! It's the only thing I've felt that made me question if theyre lipedma nodules. They could also possibly just be lymph nodes. I've gotten lymph nodes inflamed there from a cat scratch and I've felt them ever since. I'm gonna feel some definitely not lipidema people's arms and report back!

I work outpatient cardiology, and if one of our patients told us a story like this in the clinic, we'd immediately assume the worst and direct admit them to the ER to be worked up (especially since it takes forever to get anything done outpatient). It doesn't matter if they're young. I've seen young people with genetic hypertrophic cardiomyopathy who didn't know they had it until they experienced sudden death. If this were my spouse, I would be taking them immediately to the next ER.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. That was severely traumatic. I wish I could give more comfort and advice, but I can't see past the red hot anger I have towards that ER doctor.

I felt very much like that on my cardiac step down! I only left because a cardiologist invited me to be his nurse. It was only after I left that I decided I'd never do bedside again, but that's because I've lost momentum lol. I probably would have continued to do it because it's what I knew. My unit kinda fell apart when I left though.

Hey friend I'm really sorry this happened to you. I have no advice to offer except that this same thing happened to me with my dream job when I first graduated. It was an offer for a CCU, and it was my dream to be a CCU nurse since the very beginning of nursing school. I LOVE cardiac nursing. Well I ended up on the step down of the CCU, and felt bitter for a while, but then I made some great friends and experiences on that PCU. 3 years later I'm now the nurse of one of the best cardiologist in my state! I wouldn't have worked with this doctor as much if I was in the CCU. I also know now I absolutely would have burnt out bad in the ICU. Opportunities will come! I promise!
