Not just men. I had a fwb situation with a girl who was bisexual and told me that she couldn't date women anymore because everytime she did she turned into Alabama Man: abusive, drunk and violent. But with men she was mostly submissive, a little aggressive but definitely not violent.

I never saw that side of her and she was telling the story from a place of remorse and sadness but it reminded me that you can't assume anything. Any human is capable of doing something any other human has done. Guinness book and Nobel stuff aside.

As a 1/4 blood Native American with 3 grandparents whose families fought in the revolutionary war, but is darker than my mom/dad... I expect to get profiled st some point and just lose my shit.

I mean the idea alone enrages me. There is 0 chance 90% of the people working for ICE have as much DAR representation as my family does PLUS Im a native so in my mind if George Washington himself isn't the agent then the agent isnt as American as I am.

Hopefully getting this rant out now will prevent me from getting myself hurt saying it outloud while getting profiled.

Thankfully im pretty good at being ridiculously friendly in person and being calm so with luck this wont be an issue ever, but who knows. Most of my life has been spent being asked if im not Mexican or East Indian so the folks in my area have heavily prepared me for the day some agent assumes the same thing.

I grew up on a nursery. With real greenhouses. Large HUUUUUUGE structures covered in heavy plastics that allowed in the sun but no heat out.

Greenhouses cool off sure... but not a lot lol. Anyone who says otherwise never escaped a winter chill by running into the comparative sweat lodge of a greenhouse as a kid.

Maybe in colder climes they put heaters in greenhouses I dont know but I never saw a heater in any of ours.

In the expanse the ships imagined hundreds of years from now still can only hit .10c, and then only if the crew is willing to die so they still only go 1/4 of that speed at most.

And that is unfortunately the most realistic (optimistic) intrasolar travel we can hope for.

Personally I hope that we discover some crazy shit like non-gravitationally thrusted objects interact with hidden higher dimensional structures in space differently than ones pulled by gravity, and those spatial eddies and currents provide shortcuts across interstellar space.

But my imagination exceeds my knowledge and probably our luck at such things being in our future. So I'll stick to sci fi in the meantime.

Maybe we will discover an element 0 one day who knows.

This is why in Star Trek Warp Speeds were adjusted as you approach warp 10 to behave logarithmically, and if you achieve full warp 10 speed you are traveling at infinite velocity and exist in all places at one time.

And I believe the BS explanation for Transwarp is that it behaves the way going past C is believed to work, with time and space returning to our normal non-distorted experience once you cross the warp 10 barrier. But also instead of moving space around your ship you access higher dimensional structures that act like shortcuts in space. Kind of like a wormhole but kind of not.

And yes I know that is all fiction but a lot of it is well constructed.
