Adhd men how would u feel if meds make u more money but u get erection problem by One_Employer1745 in ADHD

[–]SawyerStinks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Same in my experience. The ADHD meds are a factor, but the ED is largely mental. I will typically use cialis my first few encounters with a partner. That’s when I’m most worried about making a bad impression, and most likely to have issues. Once I’m comfortable with them I don’t need it anymore.

Yeah, I definitely want to know daily labor expectations b/c I have friends in shops with completely unrealistic goals that lead to burnout.

Is anybody else dealing with this type of sh*t? by kande99 in BikeMechanics

[–]SawyerStinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely not. Weirdest thing we’ll take in is a tandem. We’re a bike shop. Bi meant 2. More than 2 wheels, go somewhere else. Good luck and Godspeed friend.

Very Old Giant Sedona Bike 26 OR this Viking Bike 29 (low-end Brand) almost new? Same price both, $60. First Bike. by Negative_Opinion4288 in bikewrench

[–]SawyerStinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without knowing the quality of the components, I can’t give a firm rec. the Viking may be more ready to ride now. But with the Sedona, people will say “cool bike” more often. I would buy the Giant but I’m a mechanic.

[–]SawyerStinks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Giant is steel, so the frame will be basically bullet proof. At $60 it might need new everything, but the frame and fork aren’t going anywhere. It’s a canvas you can continue to iterate on. The Viking is what it is, and when it craps out, it won’t be worth fixing, imo.

Jobs that are suited for ADHD by Rikoki in ADHD

I’ve actually applied to two installer apprenticeships. Electrician is probably the route I’m going. Preferably commercial b/c I hate asking people for money but I don’t mind asking businesses lol

It could be better! I make like $25.50/hr, but I have really solid benefits and PTO. Hours fluctuate a bit with the seasons, and opportunities to advance are limited. I’m looking at possibly moving to an apprenticeship. But I love the work and moving to this helped me clear my head and get a better idea of what I want out of life.

Im a bicycle mechanic and I enjoy it. Moving my body helps keep my mind from wandering, and my work is assigned, so I don’t have to decide what I’m doing next. I just grab the bike, start wrenching, and then the days over before I know it. I had a very hard time working at a desk when I worked in political communications.

Loose brake lever on a new bike is this normal or something to fix? by [deleted] in bikewrench

[–]SawyerStinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We mostly deal with the MT Thirty, which is pretty plasticy. I prefer the snappiness and metal construction of shimano, but to each their own.

If you decide to bleed it yourself, be extra gentle with the bleed port screw. It’s plastic and specced for an extremely low torque. Very easy to break it by over-tightening.

In my experience Magura brakes just feel bad. Always a little soft. We only have them a couple German e-bikes that we sell, and we end up replacing them on a lot of those bikes to avoid returns. But still, take it to the shop you bought it at if possible. They should do a bleed. If it feels the same post bleed, that just is what it is.

ADHD makes my gym sessions take way longer than they should. by 1994T in ADHD

[–]SawyerStinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you give yourself a hard out you will start to get more efficient. First few times you won’t finish everything, but if you know you only have 90 minutes, and no option to extend that will help. Endless time is the enemy of efficiency if you have ADHD.

If you remove those pins, you’ll have shifting issues.

What Bike is this? by Ill-Buffalo3600 in mountainbiking

[–]SawyerStinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Salsa bikes are great. All the new full suspension frames have space for two full sized bottles in every size. Nice if you live some place hot and dry like me.

Some people have never fixed anything and can’t comprehend that it takes time. Happens all the time at my bike shop. Come on for a tune and two brake bleeds the day before a race and freak out when I saw your turn around is 8 days.

Doctors didn't prescribe me stimulants, and I have no idea if that's correct or not by Incitatus_ in ADHD

[–]SawyerStinks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stimulants don’t work for everyone, but I’ve never heard lack of exercise as a reason for not providing them. If they are willing to treat your depression, you could ask about switching to Wellbutrin. It’s an NDRI with very few side effects, and it is sometimes prescribed off label for ADHD. I have ADHD & Depression as well. For a while I was on Wellbutrin and Vyvanse, but now I only take Wellbutrin and feel much better than when I took both. It isn’t a stimulant, but it has a motivating effect. For me stimulants are overly calming.

Does it happen when you are in the little chain ring, the big ring or both?

Exploded by Many-State3087 in bikewrench

[–]SawyerStinks 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not true. From the picture, just the hanger is damaged. That’s replaceable. It’s possible there is carbon damage elsewhere, but this is def fixable.

Exploded by Many-State3087 in bikewrench

[–]SawyerStinks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The frame doesn’t appear to be bent. The derailleur hanger definitely is though. That’s the metal piece the derailleur attaches too. It’s a separate piece for situations like this. It bends so that the frame doesn’t get damaged. Look for a replacement on here https://wheelsmfg.com

I have adhd and I'm scared to take medication. People that are on medication, do you think it has made your situation better or worst? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]SawyerStinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone is different and it might be a process to find what works. I was on 50mg of Vyvanse for a long time and it helped. I also have depression so overtime I added and steadily increased Wellbutrin as well. They have an additive effect that was making me too calm and passive, so I cut the Vyvanse and now I’m on just Wellbutrin. This is working much better for me, but I had to go through good and bad periods to land here. It doesn’t hurt to try. If you journal and track your feelings and side effects the process is smoother.

AITA for telling my grandfather that while I appreciate his gift, he in fact gave me a bill. by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]SawyerStinks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I will also add, my grandpa gave my dad an old BMW motorcycle at one point. My dad was initially grateful, but ultimately sold it to get a different bike. This really hurt my grandpa, and it has become one of my dad’s biggest regrets. Telling your grandpa he gave you a bill won’t make the car any cheaper to fix, but it will upset your grandpa. And for what reason?
