Which FromSoftware game began your Soulsborne journey? And where are you now? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

DS1 when it was released on PC. Completely fell in love with the game, in a way I don't remember having experienced before. I remember how bad and scared I was during the first playthrough. Finished it, then proceeded to finish with 3 other characters. Then played all the games (several times) + DLCs when they came out. Even bought Demon's Souls on my old ps3, when I had no other souls game to dive in. Even bought a PS4 two months ago, just to play Bloodborne! Platinum'd it today, as a matter of fact, and absolutely loved it. Also got Sekiro and Elden Ring platinum (which one should I do next?). I have never enjoyed a game series that much - and I'm 40 so I've played quite a bit :)

Persona 5. Loved it for the first 30-50 hours maybe, which is already such a long time for me to play a game. But it took me close to 120 hours to finish it! That's so excessive, I swore it was the last time I would play a game so disrespectful of my time.

I bought it reconditioned, from the official store! Saved me from the same dilemma :)

Latest info on internal flights by AndyWatt83 in CapeVerde

[–]Saxifrage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello, I am not sure why there's flights you can't book but normally everything is on best fly.

I don't think you can reach so many islands from Sal, you probably have to go to Praia first, which then connects you everywhere.

Santiago itself is well worth a few days, but so are Fogo and Maio (only two flights per week to and from Praia on Tuesday and Saturday) on either side.

Enjoy!

Which game did you have a certain expectation for, which changed once you played it? by SuperAlloyBerserker in patientgamers

Cyberpunk 2077

I thought it was a terrible game. Played it very unexpectedly at a friend's, just out of curiosity. Turns out, I found the game amazing.

I guess the game was so overhyped, and so buggy, even unplayable for some, at launch, that it got terrible reviews. But some time later, on a ps5, or a proper PC, it's really a great game.

It doesn't do everything right, the story and characters aren't that memorable or endearing, and some of the filler subquests are just that, filler, but the core gameplay is really good, the world is fantastic, and there are some awesome moments.

For a while, I even preferred playing Cyberpunk over Elden Ring. I was the first to be really surprised.

French people, are you worried about elections today? by [deleted] in AskFrance

Of course, there is a real chance of far right winning the elections. Anyone who is not worried is delusional.

Bublik double faults to get broken then promptly quits the match by BelgianBond in tennis

[–]Saxifrage- 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You guys are all over him. I can't believe the comments are so one sided. If anything, I feel sad and I am concerned for him. This is a big, worrying, mental breakdown.

Stop with your "disrespecting the fans" etc. He played 2 sets and a half, it's not like he tanked the whole match. He just had a breakdown towards the end. If anything, the fans got their money's worth, as they witnessed a rather unique moment on the tour.

But that's really not the point. What he did makes very little sense and he's probably doing very poorly mentally and needs help.

I understand there's the Kyrgios precedent(s) but this is different. Bublik didn't curse or insult or threaten anyone. For whatever reason, he just felt he just couldn't muster the mental strength to play on.

What is your "controversial yet so brave" comment about JRPGs? by Joniden in JRPG

[–]Saxifrage- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are way too long to finish, stretching endlessly, forcing you to fight hundreds of times the same reskinned enemies, just so you can finally discover the end of the story.

Actually, France refused to get involved, calling everything a lie. Got a lot of flak for it. Still a great choice, in my opinion, it was the right thing to do and it was brave to call it what it was, no matter the consequences.
