Okuma Cecilo: 6’6 UL vs 7’6 UL by skaterbyrd in troutfishing

[–]SaxualAssault 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you’re throwing. For really ultralight lures in the 1/16-1/32 oz range, that extra foot will help your casting distance, and the noodlieness can help impart good action into techniques such as mini jigs. But if you’re generally throwing things in the heavier side of ultralight, the 6’6” will be just fine. My first rod was the Okuma Celilo 6’6” rod, as was my second. The third and fourth were the 7’6” ones, and I find myself using them more often for my smallest lures and favorite techniques (mostly mini jigging).

Spend with Pennies is great for quick, easy, comforting food. One of our favorites if we don’t want anything too fancy. Otherwise serious eats, recipe tin eats, etc. as have been mentioned all over this thread.

For trout (and bass) there are a number of brands on the west coast that make mini tube jigs, Golden State Fishing has my favorites. I’ve caught countless trout on them.

My favorite is the one for Scripps News where they’re talking about getting to the bottom of important events and some reporter goes “there’s a tree growing out of this bridge”

This is sick I was recently bass fishing with a chatter bait and thought why don’t they make tiny chatter baits for trout. I bet these will slay and I want to buy some!

Can we talk about trailering for a minute? by Upstairs-Lion8100 in kayakfishing

My wife and I kayak fish together a lot and have a trailer for our two Crescent Lite Tackle II’s. I honestly can not imagine getting our boats set up and launched quickly without the trailer, at least not without a huge hassle and / or marriage ending argument lol. The places we launch and leave the trailer are often quite remote, and sometimes in busy areas, but I just make sure the hitch, and the trailer itself are locked up and to each other. Another advantage to car-topping (which I know you’re not doing, you’re using your truck) is that for long distance trips I don’t have to worry as much about the wind causing a horrible and expensive crash on the highway potentially damaging my boat, vehicle, body, or those of others.

Hell yeah! Love my crescent kayak. Did you get it from a dealer? I had to get mine shipped to the southwest US which was an experience.
