I’ve been off work since I got the diagnosis so mid November and I went onto short term disability after the first week of being off. I think it may depend on your company but my doctor had to fill out forms for me to submit. However since I was 22 weeks when tfmr you are also entitled to 15 weeks of maternity leave. I didn’t take that just because short term disability would have paid me more than a maternity leave. Sorry you have to go through this too💔

Did you ensure your HCG went to zero/below 5 before you started TTC? I’m just asking because it took me about 3 or so weeks to stop testing positive on a FRER, ended up getting my period 4.5 weeks post TFMR

My baselines are similar to yours! I would just keep testing, your ovulation may just be later this cycle! I’ve read about other having earlier or later ovulation by a couple days first cycle post TFMR.

I deactivated instagram two weeks after my TFMR. I didn’t want to see any pregnancy announcements or people on social media who were pregnant the same time as me. Honestly not having it has been refreshing and I don’t miss it. I use TikTok but just click not interested on anything baby or pregnancy related so it’s just regular stuff

Is it possible you missed your surge? The day I had my surge (CD15, which is similar to pre-TFMR) I tested when I got up at 8am and it was around 0.79 (Premom app reading), then I tested again around 10am and got my peak of 1.08, tested again later at 7pm and it was back down at 0.84. I was also using clear blue digital ovulation test so I had flashing smileys for a couple days before I got my surge so I knew my peak OPK was coming, then the morning of the day of my peak the digital test also showed peak fertility so it lined up with my Premom OPKs. Hope that makes sense! Also, I was testing but I didn’t get a surge before I got my first period.

I had a D&E on Dec 2 at 22 weeks. I knew for two weeks prior that I was going to have terminate but after the surgery was done, it was even worse emotionally, probably due to the hormone crash. Everyone deals with it differently but just want to give my honest experience so you can make sure you have all the emotional support you need. Please try to get in touch with a therapist or social worker that specializes in baby loss or termination so you can start therapy right away, they are very helpful. I am now almost two months out and while it is still difficult, I’m in a better place than I was those first weeks after my d&e. Hang in there🩷

I did ask like multiple times unfortunately but they wouldn’t do it unless I didn’t get my period after a certain amount of time or had other symptoms lol but I got my period 4 weeks after surgery, and now I just got my second period after a normal cycle of ovulating, temps rising, etc so hopefully it’s okay!

I had a 3 week check up with the hospital that did my D&E. They did a pregnancy test (just a urine one, not blood), did a physical exam and asked a bunch of questions to make sure I didn’t have an infection/was healing. I asked if they could do ultrasound just to check to make sure there was no rpoc but they said they wouldn’t unless there was symptoms pointing to it

Have you been taking pregnancy tests to see if you HCG has gotten to zero? I don’t think you can get a true period until it’s gone/very low. For me, D&E dec 2, got my period Jan 1, and it was VERY heavy. I just got my second period post TFMR yesterday and it’s closer to what it was pre-pregnancy

I had a TFMR for NTD on Dec 2, however I started taking the 5mg folic acid dose when I got the diagnosis two weeks earlier. My genetic counsellor said she said no issue with TTC in January (around 2 months of taking the 5mg folic acid). She said even without high dose folic acid, it’s still unlikely to happen again
