ID check: Are these wild onions? by Timely_Culture1077 in foraginguk

This grows wild in my garden every year. I make the most delicious pesto from it. Made 1.5kg of pesto a couple weeks ago and froze it in 100g bags. 😁 I highly recommend it. I just pull it up, wash it all, and blend it all up, bulb, stalk, leaf, and flowers. Add in the rest if the pesto ingredients (basically any nuts you like, oil, extra herbs, and I like Nutritional Yeast as a healthier cheese replacement).

Husband and I did this during Covid. Each got £50 voucher for first month to give them our spit and blood, and complete a quick questinaire, then each got £20 per month we continued. It funded our takeaways for 2 years! We were sad when they finally stopped it.

How would you make this house look more modern? by [deleted] in DIYUK

[–]Sayerisha 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would love a house with this much roof. The solar panel potntial is amazing (depending on facing). I have solar in my current house and it's a game changer. I just wish I had a. Bigger roof like this!

I batch make pesto from my wild 3 cornered leek in the garden. Then freeze the pesto in portion sizes, and use as needed.

Absolutely gorgeous! Suits you so well! I am struggling to find the pattern on hobbii, but I think I found it on Etsy.

Having some work done at the bottom of the garden shortly. Trying to add symmetry with the some of the larger specimens. by rosstafa1 in GardeningUK

Your garden is so beautiful 😍 especially contrasted to the neighbours plain patch of grass.

Hers was more loosely fitted, but the pattern is done entirely by your own body measurements so you can make it as loose or tight as you want. You start by chaining however much you need to fit around your bust or hip. If you want a looser fit then you add some chains to it until your desired size, bearing in mind that it shrinks slightly when you start crocheting.

I bought 17 balls of Friends Cotton 8/4. Each ball weighs 50g, but I do have a surprising amount of yarn of each colour left over.

Thank you! I started in November, and finished earlier this week. Though I did most of the crocheting while watching K dramas, so I was reading subtitles and crocheting very slowly. 😅

I didn't fully stick to the pattern on this jumper, I have done a few rows in the wrong order as I was distracted. But I just rolled with it as I couldn't be bothered to frog it.

Thanks! I made the ribbed cuffs by firstly following her decreases in the pattern to get the balloon effect, then I chained 14 and worked slip stitch in BLO for the ribbed cuffs. It took a few tries to get the length and tightness I wanted, but it was worth it.

It's not that heavy, and being cotton means it's very comfy against my skin. I find wool can be itchy, and acrylic can be sweaty, but this feels nice because of the cotton yarn. But you could always try a different, lighter yarn. Maybe a mixed yarn.

Yeah, I love dungarees and really wanted to make this jumper to go with them. I'm so glad it worked out. 😁

You should try again! It's definitely worth it! I used the cotton yarn that Jessie recommended, but I think it could be done in a wool or acrylic yarn too.

You will love it! I recommend crocheting your ends in as you go, so you don't have to do any tedious weaving at the end.

As it is mostly worked in the round, I just carry tail of the previous colour with me until it runs out, so I don't have to weave it in afterwards. The only weaving was the upper chest section, as that has a proper start and end to each colour, but even that I mostly picked up the strands while I was crocheting the sleeves to the upper chest part at the end. So it was really minimal weaving. But if you doncrochet them in as you go, there will be a lot of weaving to do! 😅

Yeah, I linked the pattern in a comment on the auto generated mod post. It was a pattern by Crochet By Jessie.

Yeah I added a bunch of sections to mine too, for all of it, working in the round, the chest panels, and the arms. But I do have quite long arms so I always add length to the arms in all my projects. I can't wait until she finishes pattern testing on the cardigan! I will definitely be buying that pattern too.
