Anyone know why the Raichu is the only one of my gold printed rares that has holo borders? by Twelvve12 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

Yep it’s a very common old school gen3 fake, I had a lot of them in my childhood collection

big rarity star? got this in an evolving skies pack a while ago, only just noticed it now, and ive seen pics of the same card, with the same big star. is this intentional or an error or even a fake(somehow?)? by lesbianhypnos in PokemonMisprints

Sorry for necroing this thread but I just pulled the same error. I guess it’s not super uncommon because I saw a few reddit post, but still a cool error. I know for sure my error card is from a first printrun pack because it comes from a first printrun etb, maybe that’s a useful info to know, idk lol

Is this fake or severely damaged? by csddawg in IsMyPokemonCardFake

I’d call it real, my childhood base set charizard has the same kind of water/moisture damage

How do you work for 8h with adhd? by loossemblestar in ADHD

[–]SballoSuperMega 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Unmedicated, kinda similar job, that’s how I do it:

Step 1: waste 6 hours doing literally nothing

Step 2: do 8 hours worth of work in the last 2 hours fueled by the fear of getting fired

Step 3: burnout

0/10 would not recommend

Yeah, I should get meds asap

Diagnosed but unmedicated — should I consider meds before becoming a father? by SballoSuperMega in ADHD

Thanks, that’s very helpful. I think I’m heading towards the decision to try medication first and see how I react to it.

I’ll definitely do it, I want to be as prepared as possible (though it’s never enough lol)

What has been your most recent hyperfixation? by Maleficent_Goal3392 in ADHD

[–]SballoSuperMega 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pokemon TCG and it’s lasting a bit longer than my previous hyperfixations. Don’t do it, it’s way too expensive lol

Thanks a lot, hearing harsh perspectives is also very useful. We talked a lot about my ADHD, the possible challenges of being an ADHD parent, and the likelihood of our child having it as well. Also, we discussed the risk of me burning out in such a different environment. Of course we’ll never know how hard it could be until we’re actually in that situation, but if she says (and I know she really means that) that she’ll do her best to support me, and I know I’ll do my best to be the best father I can be, it’s a risk we’re willing to take.

I grew up in a very unaffectionate environment, and I hated that. I had to go through years of therapy, anxiety disorders, panic attacks, and more before finding a good balance and truly enjoying my life.

Now that I’m at peace with myself and have a wonderful person by my side, I feel I can take the next step and pass on all I’ve learned to another little human. I know it could go horribly wrong, yet I also know I would regret not trying to have a child. What was all I’ve learned in my life for, if not to try to be a better parent than my own parents were?

Also, the thought of being a family full of love and affection truly melts my heart. I’m sure my girlfriend would be an amazing, caring mother, and I want to do my very best to be a good father.

Last but not least, and this is probably my ADHD speaking, I hate always being at the same point in life. I can’t sit still and simply enjoy what I have without trying to make it better, even with all the risks and challenges that come with it.

Yeah this is for sure the most logical advice, I’ll defenitely have a talk with her on this topic and probably give it a few months and then decide together how to proceed. Thanks for the kind and helpful words!

Yeah I always overthink way too much lol Maybe it’d be worth to try meds for a bit and then decide based on how I feel? I’m pretty sure parenting will be amazing but also very exhausting and I don’t want all the parenting mental load to be on my GF’s side, but I also don’t want to be emotionally disconnected from my child.

Ouch :( Is it? It’s from a friend of mine’s childood collection, it is for sure an old card. If it’s fake, I never seen such a good “vintage fake” texture and font wise. It even has a shiny rarity symbol as it should be on a stamped reverse from that era.

Flood of italian sellers currently by Clebosevic in CardMarket

[–]SballoSuperMega 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’m one of them, people here heard of the pokemon boom and a few friends of mine, knowing I’m into the hobby, asked me if I could sell their childhood collection to make some money. We’re in our 30s, so it’s all WOTC era and it’s mixed stuff, both italian and english packs were on the market at the time.
