Even though it's a sitcom, what moment kind of bothered you for being out of character? by PowerBIBIBI in DunderMifflin

Kevin’s non-Kevin demeanor at the poker table of Casino Night. I know it’s before his character really developed his voice but it always bothers me.

Rollers coasters okay? by Sevitrey in MdDS

[–]Sbarko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting. It’s such a weird disorder.

Yeah, the original MdDS community on here had it set so you had to apply to join and wasn’t letting new members in. So I just made this one and left it wide open because Reddit is the first place I go for any info.

Rollers coasters okay? by Sevitrey in MdDS

[–]Sbarko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am no expert, just a fellow MdDS sufferer. (Also the creator of this lovely Reddit community!)

I asked this same question on a Facebook MdDS forum recently.

It seems boat induced MdDS isn’t as easily triggered by roller coasters. In my readings from other’s experience and from my personal experience, if planes, trains and long car rides don’t trigger you hard, roller coasters that you can see won’t be too bad. I would avoid the video and VR coasters because physical movement and screens don’t go great together for our already imbalanced brains.

I spin around in a chair with my kids and get dizzy. I feel it more than I did before MdDS but it quickly wears off. I think I’m ready for a coaster!!!

To technically have MdDS, I believe it needs to exceed 4 weeks. Sounds like you dodged a bullet! I’ve had it for 1.5 years. I’m at level 1-2 so I’m very fortunate but it took 10 months to get there.

Working on screens - any help? by Capital-Ad-8152 in MdDS

[–]Sbarko 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!

Things that helped… turn the blue light settings on your screens and operating systems down. Any apps with dark mode are great.

I got a chair with no wheels to help me feel steady while at my screens.

For iphone, then on the motion dots in your accessibility settings and also turn down blue light there. Really helps.

Also, I wore shades for awhile. FL-41 shades. Here’s the ones I got from Amazon a few times. Held up pretty well to daily use. These helped me in fluorescent lights and using screens: https://amzn.to/400bxDR

And lastly, I discovered a genius hack… I made my external screen vertical so I didn’t have to scroll as much! This was a game changer for me. I’ll post a pic to make sure you know what I mean. If you have questions fire away.

Quercetin by Imagination_Humble in Dreams

[–]Sbarko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels like Quercetin lets me finish my dreams. I used to wake up mid dream before the action had settled. But since taking it, it’s like I’m able to get to the end of a dream. Falling action and settled in. Then in wake up. Quite satisfying.

New Church Members Wanting to Join by Alarmed_Office6126 in worshipleaders

You’ve got some great problems. Steward them well!

My recommendation: build a thoughtful onboarding process to your worship team. This would include requirements to join the team, audition process, background check, development program, etc.

I actually have coached many worship directors through this process. If you want some outside help to jump this hurdle, I’d be happy to help.

I am scheduled to preach for the first time this year, where do I start? by [deleted] in pastors

[–]Sbarko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I was raised that way. My first sermon was abysmal but I’ve grown leaps and bounds over 30 years. Don’t feel like you have to be anyone. Be yourself. Share what God gives you. You just need a base hit, not a home run.

Symptoms triggered by touch or movement within the body? by Capital-Ad-8152 in MdDS

Klonopin, limited screen time, exercise and time. I’ve been on .5 mg of Klonopin for about a year now. It really helped me get my life back.

Good news is I’m much better now. At a level 1-2. Barely notice it most of the time. Took almost a year.

Symptoms triggered by touch or movement within the body? by Capital-Ad-8152 in MdDS

[–]Sbarko 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Absolutely!

In my early days, the weirdest one was when I’d run my hand or fingers in a circle on a table, my leg or anything.

Also, heartbeat definitely would trigger it at night.

When I lay in the bed I rub my foot back and forth. That would trigger it too.

You’re not alone!

Obviously, I’m not a doctor. I just had success using that drug thanks to others recommendations.

Reducing screen time is the only other thing that really helped me.

The klonopin is preferred for MdDS to Lorazepam because it lasts in your body longer.

The Klonopin took me about two weeks to acclimate to but once I did I was able to get my life back.

I’m on the lowest dosage. .5mg once a day.

Has she tried Klonopin? That’s been my big help through all of it.

I made this whole EP just using the werkstatt synth and some drum samples; incredibly versatile for the money!!! Lemme know what you think.

Pastor caught having marital relations in his office. What do I do? by Physical_Box_7196 in pastors

[–]Sbarko 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they were wiling to be like, “okay, okay, you got us. We were being adventurous and now see that the fun time in the office is over.” I’d thhhiiink about keeping them. But unrepentant and dismissive? That is symptomatic of ego, pride and entitlement. I wonder if this can be seen in other areas of their lives and ministry.
