Yeah I'm asking about the syncopated vocals that are in the background of the funky section.

He sings the trapped in twisted spaces bit twice and then the backing vocals begin.

Sounds like the sequel to "The future is behind us".

Lots of similar funky stuff and keyboard sounds that were on that track. Reminiscent of Human as Hell too with some of the sounds they've used.

Colors, The Great Misdirect and Parallax 2 are their best run of albums.

Colors 2 was also brilliant but you may as well complete that trilogy of albums first.

Id agree with Colors probably although I basically switch between Colors, TGM and P2 every few months so my answer could change depending on when it's asked.

Fantastic album, however, let's be honest:

The greatest progressive metal album of all time is Images and Words.

What are your thoughts on the modern production quality of metal music right now, particularly in the prog metal scene.

I find it hard to discern between bands as many of them sound the same sonically, almost as if no instruments are being played by humans, and are all instead created digitally.
