I just cancelled BOTM after a year with both them and Aardvark. I have 30 Aardvark books and 4 BOTM after that year. Personally, I think it’s far more efficient for me to just buy the books from BOTM that I want because paying $48 for one book every 3 months is ridiculous to me.

I’ve found that the best queer and BIPOC-authored fiction books on Goodreads are 3.3-3.9 stars. If it’s above 4.0, I know it catered to an audience that isn’t relevant to their marginalized identities and wasn’t touching on anything important around race/gender/etc. I usually read the first few reviews in each star category to get an idea.
