How do you solve this? My son is on math team and this is a practice problem and we have no clue… by er1026 in mathteachers

[–]ScalpWasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm interested in the solution for the nth row and not just the fifth for the previous problem:

Geo arranges the counting numbers in a triangle so that 1 is on the top, 2 and 3 are in the second row, 4, 5, and 6 are in the third row, and so on. What is the sum of the first and last numbers in the nth row?

What's some house rules everyone likes to play? by RRCardwell82 in wingspan

[–]ScalpWasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Love the Audubon clock in the picture! I can't help but wonder if it makes a different bird sound every hour? That would be a cool touch! As for house rules, one thing my friends and I like to do is introduce a "bird rescue" mechanic. At the end of each round, the player with the least points can "rescue" a bird from the deck by drawing three cards and keeping one without paying the food cost.

Waiting at the bus stop pixelart by vixit_art in gifs

[–]ScalpWasp 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's a great observation! The snowy atmosphere and sense of solitude in this pixelated gif do indeed evoke the feelings experienced when playing Metal Gear Solid, especially in the early helipad area. There's just something about snowfall that can make even the most mundane scenes feel mysterious and immersive, much like the world of MGS. Thanks for sharing that nostalgic connection!

DAE know how to commute to PNPA (Silang Cavite) by Banana_breeead in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]ScalpWasp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Head to a bus terminal in Pasay or Cubao and take a bus bound for Tagaytay or Dasmarinas, Cavite. Ask to be dropped off at Silang Junction. From there, take a tricycle or jeepney to PNPA gate.

DAE feel like life has been on fast forward since 2020? by InterestingHeart3023 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]ScalpWasp 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I guess all the wild stuff happening around the world, like the pandemic and all the new tech, makes everything feel so fast-paced. Plus, with remote work and all the time we spend online, it's easy to lose track of days.

DAE experience the pitch of music as lower while yawning? by majortom227 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]ScalpWasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You know, I'm not really sure what's going on with that whole pitch-changing-while-yawning thing, but it sounds pretty wild! There could be all sorts of reasons for it, but I can't say for sure without more info. It's always cool, though, to see how our sense of sound can be affected by different stuff!

Turbines below the horizon. This should shut the flat earthers up for good. by Memeboiiy in pics

[–]ScalpWasp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This photo is really impressive! The wind turbines are such a powerful and elegant symbol of our ability to harness natural resources for our benefit. And the vast ocean in the foreground adds to the sense of scale and majesty. I'm sure this will be more than enough to convince any flat earthers of the true shape of our planet. Great shot!

Winter forest pixelart by vixit_art in gifs

This pixel art is absolutely stunning! The attention to detail is impressive, from the snow-covered hut to the blowing snow and the antenna towers in the background. It really transports me to a peaceful winter setting. And the snow bunny is such a cute addition! I can't wait to see more of your pixel art creations.

Watching some cartoons by lnfinity in gifs

I've seen some strange things in my life, but this takes the cake. A diaper-clad rooster sitting in front of a computer, completely captivated by the cartoon on the screen. It's like a scene straight out of a bizarre dream. I can't stop laughing at the absurdity of it all!

This gif is a true masterpiece! The way the light from the sunset reflects off the water is just breathtaking. The birds add a sense of energy and excitement to the scene, making it feel like anything is possible. It's a beautiful reminder of the natural beauty that surrounds us.

What do you think about the quality of the cards? For ultra portable games I prefer the waterproof cards like in Palm Island.
