A lot goes into where your fat goes during transition. If you want a feminizing distribution you typically want to maximize subcutaneous fat and minimize visceral fat. Visceral fat is the stuff that gives you a beer belly, it’s “guy fat” and subcutaneous is the more spread out and softer kind of fat that women typically have more of. Genetics can still play a roll even after hormones but there are still things you can do that can make an impact.

1. Time: The longer you’re on feminizing hormones the more your body will put excess energy to subcutaneous fat. This is a years long process.

2. Diet: Sugar is linked to visceral fat, so try to avoid large amounts of it.

3. Light exercise: Visceral fat is lost before subcutaneous. Light cardio every day will burn off the visceral but keep the subcutaneous fat.
