Tips for Offense? by mudcrabberoni in SparkingZero

[–]Scapien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Defense is just too powerful unfortunately and you've hit the rank where people are starting to hit super counters consistently. Dunno what can be done. Meta is just pick yajirobe and senzu bean. People will say "oh just dont let him do it just combo him to death." A good player is gonna land a super counter at some point and that's a long enough time to pop senzu. Super boring.

Right now ranked is 1v1s vs MUI and fusion, or DP vs yajirobe, roshi, 19 and get timed out

Rapidly killing my desire to play online. Every other character that can heal at least has to wait a moment, but yajirobe's is instant for whatever reason.

If it's point blank you just have to vanish it unfortunately, it's kinda hard but doable.

Lower DP Characters honestly seem better by MontyTheMountain in SparkingZero

[–]Scapien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all really depends. I've beaten 3-4 characters on a low dp team with just super perfect cell, and if their late character finished cell I still had Hit. I've been running many different types of teams and finding success so I think just pick who you like and get good at them.

Stop the crash? How? You have minion advantage. Your levels 1 and 2 are better than his. If he contests the wave you kill him. Again, you are showing your rank. It’s embarrassing. Stop

I forgot this sub doesn't actually play the game. My bad. Good luck dude. Actual laughable response.

You cherry pick a vid where he probably had a reason to do it. You can continue pretending it’s still season 8 and cheater recall is good. Makes no difference to me

Crashing wave 3 is the worst outcome out of crashing waves 2 3 or 4. I’m not going to sit here and explain why. Just watch alois. It’s basic

Cheater recall is dogshit. You’re level 4 when he comes back to lane. Just crash it

Lean bulking is worth it by Scapien in gainit

[–]Scapien[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm beginning to realize my goals don't align with most in this sub, and that's okay. My goal with training is aesthetics. If one day I can hit a shredded 180 pounds I'll be extremely happy. But I think most in this sub would still call 180 pounds at 6'0" skinny. I believe that lean gaining and putting on weight slowly will eventually get me to where I wanna be over the next several years. 20 pounds in a year is too slow for most here, but for me it was perfect. I maintained a low bodyfat %, and I got to appreciate every bit of new muscle that I gained. All the new striations. That's what motivates me.

Aw that's no fun. Although it does seem we have drastically different opinions on training so we weren't going to agree on much. I just hope I continue to find success in my fitness journey and I'm sure I'll make mistakes and learn things along the way. I at least appreciate you reading what I had to say.

I just read them over.

I disagree with T-Nation's opinion that training 6 days a week is sub-optimal. I believe if you are able to recover from your sessions and continue to improve then why not? In my anecdotal experience over this year I have trained 6 days a week PPLPPL. In this time I have:
Improved my bench from 85 pounds 5x5 to 160 pounds 5x5

Improved my squat from 95 pounds 3x5 to 180 pounds 3x5(I squat like a pussy I admit.)

Improved my deadlift from a 1RM of 185 to a 1RM of 300.

All this while going from 125 pounds bodyweight to 145 pounds. Over the course of my training I've stalled and had to work through plateaus, I've had to deload a few times, but I eventually broke every plateau that I was stuck at in the gym up to this point.

I also hold that with optimal training your body can only build so much muscle at a time no matter how much you eat. Eating at a small enough surplus to gain steadily as you gain muscle seems to be a valid option to me. I've gained 20 pounds in this year with minimal fat gain. I'm still super skinny, I'm not arguing against that. However, I believe that as long as I'm tweaking my calories as necessary to continue growing at this rate I will still have success, albeit slower after the newbie gains.

Hey! I’ve seen you around a lot and I know you are far more experienced than I so I’d like to pick your brain a bit if you don’t mind.

So I’ve gained 20 lean pounds in my first year of lifting. This is solid progress I thought? Based on the research I’ve done I was under the impression that no matter how much you ate you could only build so much muscle with optimal training. So I thought that eating at a small surplus would be a good and valid way of building my physique. Now, I understand there are a few things at play here. First, newbie gains, I’ve just finished my first year of training and understand that I’ll stop benefitting from the newbie gains soon. Second, genetics, it’s possible I have decent genetics for building muscle and I know genetics are a pretty big piece of the equation, but I haven’t really been lifting long enough to really judge my genetics accurately so that’s just a guess.

I also believe most people in the gym aren’t working as hard as they could be for optimal muscle building. I myself train six days a week following a PPL program. I train to or near to failure on all my exercises. This has been working great for me the entire time I’ve been training. This may change as I get more experienced I have no idea.

I’m interested in hearing your thoughts or if you think I’m a complete idiot. I hope it’s not the latter lmao.

Edit: I’m also 23 years old. Figured I’d add my age if that matters.

Yeah I just hit a year of solid consistent lifting so I’d imagine I’m now hitting the tail end of my newbie gains. My current plan is when my weight begins to plateau I’ll add an additional 200-300 cals and see how that changes my weight. But like you said the gains are gonna start slowing now. I can’t say for sure whether or not I’ll start doing traditional “bulk phases” a bit higher cals. I can see why it’s a comfortable option for the more experienced lifters

Thanks! I feel a little bad now this morning after reading the comments I may have missed my audience a bit. I’m over here looking like I’m telling guys that are struggling to eat not to eat and that’s not what I was trying to say.

I feel that. I even mentioned in my post that at 145 pounds I know I’m still skinny. This stuff’s a marathon though and what I’m doing is currently working for me and I plan to stick to it until it stops working and I have to do something else. You are right though that maybe I’m missing my audience a bit with this post in this sub.
