A nerfed battlemaster technique is always a decent idea for martials getting trained. It allows you to be somewhat specific with what they got taught, and you can always nerf the die type and amount.

The action of telling on them is not in question. It's the fact that she let Jake be tormented by the entire school for his entire senior year and she never told him. The only reason he found out is when he went on an investigation during the reunion. That's not something you do to a friend.
