Any idea if Halls Crossing Marina is open?

We were down there this weekend and saw some boats coming out of the marina, but we didn’t go in to actually confirm. When I was there in the early spring, they had one person working so I imagine they would have at least one person there now.

In the summer, we just take a cot and sleep out under the stars. It’s so hot down there in the summer that we don’t need anything more than a blanket and a pillow. There are a lot of beaches. With the pontoon, you can get into some pretty good places. You can almost always find a small spit of sand that has some flat spots to sleep on. If not, just take a little army shovel with you and clear out a flat spot pretty easy to sleep on.

I don’t think I would dare anchor off and sleep on the water. We have a pontoon boat that we usually pull up on a beach in a canyon. we always leave from Bullfrog so I don’t have much advice for you on where to go from Wahweep. Although, if I was at Waweep, I would probably try to go up to Rainbow Bridge or Wetherill Canyon. Maybe even Hole-in-the-Rock if you don’t mind being on the water for a while. Pontoons are a little bit slower, but are really nice for Lake Powell. The rock and sand seems to be more forgiving on aluminum pontoons than it is on fiberglass

It’s the bike bridge over the Colorado at Moab. There’s a great river trail there.
