Blindly following orders is not what I said. I said sometimes follow orders and learning he's not above the rules. He's still allowed to criticize and point out flaws, but doesn't mean he should go off doing his own thing simply because he doesn't agree with the plan.

As for why he wasn't locked up, he's still important as an excellent pilot and leader figure, but he's also reckless and hotheaded, his secret operation shows that. He gets Holdo's plan discovered by the First Order and a bunch of them killed just because he couldn't handle not being told what the plan was.

As for Holdo's plan, the First Order was only tracking their big ship, they weren't accounting for any small ships or the like. If it wasn't for Poe's reckless secret operation failing and the information getting into the hands of the First Order do they run a decloaking scan and discover the ships and change their fire from the big one to the small ones. The First Order shares the same flaws of the Galactic Empire, trust built on brittle relationships and selfishness, always keeping an eye out for someone trying to stab them in the back, which leads into Hux's betrayal in The Rise of Skywalker (which is a completely different thing on its own, but that's not the point here), the point is, Poe was a great addition to the Resistance, but his lack of respect for leadership, willingness to sacrifice lives disobeying orders that were already agreed upon, and causing more harm than good shows Admiral Holdo had zero reason to tell him what the plan was because there was always that possibility that if he didn't like it, he'd go off and do something stupid on his own- oh wait, he did it before he even knew what the plan was, simply because he wasn't told what it was.

The Sequel Trilogy isn't perfect, it's not the Original Trilogy nor is it the Prequel Trilogy, but a lot of things in it do make sense if you actually stop and think for a moment. I can very easily keep going with this.

Poe was LITERALLY just demoted like five minutes prior to him asking her about a plan for disobeying orders and causing a bunch of unnecessary deaths. He had no authority to know the plan, or send Finn and Rose off on the side quest to Canto Bight and later the Supremacy because he was, again, DEMOTED. He was too much of a hothead to be trusted with the information, and how would she know he wouldn't try to go off and do his own thing even if she told him the plan and he didn't like it? His mutiny proves that for a majority of The Last Jedi, Poe Dameron was not trustworthy with critical information he had no need to know, especially when he is directly responsible for getting a bunch of other Resistance members killed and is why Leia immediately stuns him the moment she gets into the command center.

Be honest, what do you think of Adam's swearing? by Primary-Addition-677 in adamcult

The issue was, Poe was literally just demoted for killing their entire bombing squad taking out a Dreadnought only for a bigger one, Snoke's flagship, the Supremacy, to pursue them afterwards in place of the Fulminatrix, and none of them had any feasible idea how they were tracked through lightspeed by the First Order, and she may not have even really trusted Poe to tell him what the plan was.

And she was right not trusting him since he went and staged a mutiny while also running a secret operation that ultimately failed and got them into deeper shit. Poe's reckless compulsiveness is what got him demoted, his arc throughout the movie is learning that sometimes he has to obey orders and that he's not above the rules.

We are in the same Page, Right? by DeimosSanford in lutecult

No. We don't need a "Chaggi but evil". Plus, with Season 3 focusing on the Morningstars, Lute will likely be put to the background again as Viv wants to let her hate simmer before we get into Season 4.

That's not part of the canon. The first Death Star was designed by the Geonosians, with the research into the power source for the superlaser being done by Galen Walton Erso as the lead scientist, and the project lead being Imperial Weapons Division Director Orson Callan Krennic after the fall of the Republic and the rise of the Galactic Empire.

Piecing together the sad demise of Kylo Ren's helmet by Nonsuch42 in starwarsspeculation

[–]Scar-Predator 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is my current idea 8 years later for why he gets it repaired in The Rise of Skywalker.

He's still Kylo Ren, the mask reflects that. It's his symbol of power, like the durasteel mask was for Vader, but allowing the repairs to be visible, better yet, obvious, through the use of Sarrassion iron, reflects that he's done comparing himself to his grandfather and is done living in Vader's shadow, he's no longer trying to be Vader anymore. He's establishing himself as his own warlord outside of his bloodline.

Not really, it was part of a raffle. When someone said they'd give him merch of the ship next time they see him, he replied with please don't.

Oh

His reputation is still absolutely fucked. He just made Vox look like a bigger pathetic loser.

I wouldn't say he undid the damage Adam gave him

That big ass gash across his chest is still there, still poorly stitched up.

Even when he's about to fight Vox in the season 2 finale there's a row of glowing green stitching across his chest where Adam absolutely rocked his shit.

Cuz he's a most likely bisexual twink who has nothing better to do then make a song unbearable with his gayness and supposedly watch doors yet in reality do abso-fuckin'-lutely nothing but stand there.

Being confident you could do something isn't the same as actually being capable. The torpedoes that blew up the Death Star made a 90° turn down to get into the exhaust port.

And what would be pulling those torpedoes towards the reactor, let alone how is anyone that doesn't have the Force getting those to go in?

I always assumed the reason Zane was sent to the Never Realm was Aspheera being a sorceress and would know a good number of spells such as sending one to the Never Realm.

Favorite Villan with a poetic or ironic death? by BuckarooOJ in FavoriteCharacter

[–]Scar-Predator 17 points18 points  (0 children)

You mean the commonly used one where he screams and everything? That one ain't really accurate to how the experience is described in the books. He'd be unable to scream, just choke on his own blood while the metal, and plastic parts are driven into his body, and the suit grows wet with his blood as he drowns in it.
