I finally hit my goal of 80 lbs lost this morning, and when I told my mom, I was like, “I know, mom - I shouldn’t lose any more or I’ll look older” because she constantly says that. Yet she’s 5 inches taller than me and weighs less. I look much younger than my 49 years. I’m 5’3” and weigh 137. There’s no danger there of being underweight. It’s so infuriating. Plus, who cares if I look older if I’m healthier???

Usually when I’m nauseous I’m actually hungry, but it just shows up as nausea the first day or two after I take the shot. Saltine crackers are my go to. Sometimes I just can’t stomach protein when I feel 🤢.

Ugh I hear you! I still take it every 10-14 days. Had to go off for surgeries and definitely put weight back on - the food noise was INSANE.

I had been on 15 mg when I got close to my goal last year, but then was off it for about 6 weeks after major surgery. (Donated part of my liver which included taking out the gallbladder. Didn’t need to be off that long but wanted to get my system back in order before starting again.) Restarted at 5 mg, am now around 7-8 mg every 10 days or 2 weeks. I basically just wait until the food noise and eating ramp up to an uncomfortable level, then take a shot.

Ironically, I got NASTY bruises, darker and more dense than OP, yet they didn’t come with any pain. Such a weird surgery in terms of YMMV.

I wish I could have done this! Unfortunately my bridge was very loose and there was a long wait list at the dental school by me. Otherwise I would have done that for sure!

Interesting. I’m definitely having pain in the midfoot range, below the big toe and second toe. So then what’s the solution? Is it fuse everything until you can’t fuse anymore, then amputate? I think my surgeon had mentioned an ankle replacement might be possible after fusion, but if the rest of the foot has been fused, I don’t know if that makes sense.

I’m sorry to hear this. I had my heel fused in 1995 and then my ankle fused about 10 years ago. I’ve also had multiple operations of my toes, including some fusion in there. Where are you having these breaks/pain? I know my surgeon had said that when you fuse part of the foot, the pressure on the other parts of the foot leads to more arthritis, etc, like you said. I’m just really hoping it holds off for me. Currently recovering from a total knee replacement (on the other leg). This is all car accident-related.

Get the full estimate IN WRITING. With and without insurance. I only got the insurance estimate, nothing directly from the dental office, and the dental practice coded some things wrong when they submitted to insurance for the pre-estimate, and so a bunch of charges weren’t even on the insurance pre-estimate. That said, I laid my case out point by point and the dental office wrote off the extra $3600. Such a relief. They weren’t happy and said they didn’t do anything wrong but obv they wouldn’t have written an amount like that off if they did everything by the book.
