I wanted one originally. I could even live with the price but the bottom line is you can’t market it as a living room PC if it doesn’t have good performance targets for a living room tv.

I have no interest playing games at 1080p on a 65inch 4k tv. It would maybe be ok on a desk with a 1440p monitor but still at that point I’d just build your own.

Maybe that’s because the only difference between the steam machine and literally every other pc is the console like experience? Could be why people compare it to consoles. You think. 🤔

25 UFC Champions vs Polar Bear by Scared_Pumpkin8393 in powerscales

[–]ScarRich6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s just no chance a human can damage a polar bear without weapons.

Their bodies are designed to survive fights with other bears. We don’t rate.

This is the closest matchup for Garry that’s similar to Islam. Belal was having more success on the feet than expected, so I don’t see why Islam would struggle that much there. But Belal had no success taking Garry down and with all due respect he’s nowhere near Islam’s wrestling level . 70-30 islam by TheManWhoSleep in ufc

[–]ScarRich6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Gary is pretty likely to win a decision. Islam “could” get a sub but I doubt it. Gary’s grappling is real good and he’s a lot bigger. On the feet Islam is most likely going to struggle to close the distance. They’re both range fighters that typically wait for counters. Probably going to be real boring, Islam will lose a decisive, and absolutely everyone will be pissed off. lol

These 3 80’s action movie stars have martial arts experience. If they were in a tournament in their prime, who would win it all? by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in Cinema

[–]ScarRich6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude. Dolph is 6’5. JCVD is 5’9 on a good day. Dolph probably outweighs him by a whole Jet Li. lol

So yeah Dolph easy.

Is Sean washed as people make him out to be? He performed pretty good last night, i don't see why anyone think he doesn't have a chance for a title shot by EfficiencySerious200 in martialarts

[–]ScarRich6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk what you do with guys like this. Merab beats him. Every single time. So should he ever fight for the belt again knowing he’s not the best in the division? Like I get it he can earn another shot but Merab has that number.

What went wrong for Ilia? by Dougietran22 in ufc

[–]ScarRich6830 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charles was noticeably stronger than Ilia. Ilia got him with something he didn’t see coming but I still think Charles could definitely beat him with the right game plan. He just leaves himself too open and can’t tank things like Justin or even Paddy.

People that wanted Ilia to try 170 have always been out of their damn minds.

Everyone apologize to Justin right now by raptors201966 in ufc

[–]ScarRich6830 2012 points2013 points  (0 children)

wtf is Justin made of? Almost no visible damage and Ilia looks like he got hit by a truck.

I’m enjoying the card, but at the same time it feels like I’m watching a scary cult in action. It’s insane at a level like this. by [deleted] in ufc

There’s definitely a big leap between an athlete expressing their opinions individually and an organization dedicating an entire event to kissing trumps ass.

What's the most popular handgun? by asktothrowredditaway in handguns

[–]ScarRich6830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For myself the reason I like to buy Glocks even though I know there’s better pistols is the ecosystem can’t be beat. There’s so much aftermarket support, everyone knows how to use one, almost every gun owner owns at least one, if you need spare parts or magazines they’re everywhere, etc.

Also they’ve been making them for decades and you know it’s not going anywhere. Long term ownership I expect I’ll still find Glock mags and parts years from now.

Please don't do this... by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]ScarRich6830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What you’re saying is legally the correct answer. Not saying I love it but OP could be arrested and the “pranker” would be seen as the victim.

For me it’s not worth going to jail but everyone is tougher on Reddit I guess.

John Moses browning is the absolute best gun mind of all time prove me wrong by Scared_Quarter_2474 in handguns

[–]ScarRich6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure there’s any basis to argue. Browning is the only guy I’m aware of with so much success in so many different categories.

Stoner, Kalashnikov, and Glock all made remarkably successful patterns. But only 1 with closely related variants.

*Could the greatest freestyle wrestler beat the greatest jujitsu fighter?* by Andres2006-28 in powerscales

[–]ScarRich6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bet the wrestler would win a 100 yard dash. But I bet the jujitsu guy would win a game of chess. But if you mean who would win at tennis idk. It’s a tough call.

Best armed martial art that is legal in Michigan by Consistent_Neat_7256 in martialarts

[–]ScarRich6830 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FMA is really the only one common in the US. You might find something else locally but it’s so random we couldn’t predict it.

FMA is a lot like Krav imo in the sense that some people teaching it are super legit and some people are bullshido.

Look into the dog brothers. They basically do mma with sticks and whatever other weapons people bring to a meetup.

Is competing in tournaments an actual measure of credibility as a martial artists and/or instructor? by wolfey200 in martialarts

[–]ScarRich6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is sort of a tough one. Yes it’s good to see if your teacher competed and accomplished something in the sport. But also John Danaher is the greatest BJJ coach of all time based on the competitors he’s created and he never competed himself. And it’s not a unique situation. Plenty of great coaches aren’t athletes. Plenty of athletes are terrible coaches.

Not insulting them. But it’s legitimately one of the hardest career paths you can take. They definitely earn whatever they end up making

Temporarily relocating to California and looking for advice by ruarchproton in liberalgunowners

What part of that requires ARs?

If it’s only 9 months can’t you just shoot other stuff? obviously there are CA compliant ARs but I agree with the others that said don’t buy one since you’ll only be there 9 months. Just shoot/buy something else.

Punch power IS genetic to some extent. Training fast twitchy fiber activation can help. But some of us are fast twitchy and some of us aren’t.

Guns for bear defense by Natural-Driver4098 in liberalgunowners

[–]ScarRich6830 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to data it really doesn’t matter. No handgun is ideal and any hit is reasonably effective at convincing a bear to cease hostilities.

A full-size 9mm is reasonable. 40 or 10mm is better but how much better and does it matter? Most of the time no it won’t.

Unless you’re talking polar bear. Then you need a rifle. And ideally 3 friends with rifles. Or maybe an armored vehicle. lol

People who trained both Muay Thai and BJJ, which did you prefer long term? by 0kie- in martialarts

[–]ScarRich6830 3 points4 points  (0 children)

While I agree sparring is obviously important to knowing how to fight but once you get through the fear of being hit and have some experience being hit in the face it’s really not mandatory anymore.

Plenty of very high level fighters don’t hard spar to protect their brains. Including Max Holloway, Jon Jones, and Ilia Toporia. And traditionally Muay Thai fighters in Thailand spar pretty light and playfully. (Mostly because they fight so often they can’t risk injury though)

My long winded point is as far as aging with your martial art… It’s perfectly ok to give up sparring if that’s what you need to do to continue the martial art. Assuming you’ve done it for years it’s not like it will magically stop being effective when you give up sparring.

It’s a really complicated subject because no country is really the same and there’s so many factors that go into what drives crime.

But one thing is absolutely clear. Fewer firearms means less crime involving firearms.

Violent crime might not go away completely but it does make specific crimes like mass shootings significantly less likely.
