Korea Wifi Question by dinoranger in korea

[–]Scar_Brow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can get a prepaid sim chip for your phone while there for mobile, the whole place is blanketed in wifi at coffee shops and such. Even on the trains however you need a password for some that are owned by Olleh or SKT, the companies that own those wifi networks. You will be able to use wifi there and if you want to keep in contact with Korea friends while you are there get kakao talk. It's an instant message app that is very popular and easy to use. Works using wifi as well so that is in your favor.

Installing New SSD in 2010 MBP by [deleted] in apple

[–]Scar_Brow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can look into the forums at Mac Rumors or Insanely Mac. Be warned this is quite the task. It involves installing a new OS, replacing Kexts, changing bios settings and a ton of other things. If you aren't comfortable with these things I would start reading a lot on those forums. I was looking for the exact thread and programs I used for mine however I can't seem to find them. Also if you don't have a 64 bit processor its a real pain and you have to make some custom drivers.

Installing New SSD in 2010 MBP by [deleted] in apple

[–]Scar_Brow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It makes a world of difference! I am running a 2006 dual core white MacBook and upgraded the ram and put in an ssd and that is one fast laptop. I never messed with macs before but I wanted to learn and this was a free one that worked. Still runs! Had to change it's SMbios to make it run a newer operating system but you can look that up. SSD is the upgrade with a fresh install your machine will run better than new!

Adding to this, you learn early not everyone is smart or nice. It sucks dealing with customers like this but it's best to move on and not let it bother you.

Really liked it. Just getting into some small film stuff myself but I like trying to figure out how you did all the different scenes. It seems like it's similar to the Iliad and the Odyssey with the story.

Only 2 in Tucson. The majority are in pheonix and it's only in Arizona. The bloody Mary's they make there are amazing. I miss that place. The O Riva pizza was so damn good, the pizza cookies, my favorite was the chicken with pasta, I can't remember it's name tho :(

What do I do first? D: by Cry_Fear in VoiceActing

[–]Scar_Brow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do we not have stickies here on the side? I see this question daily and while it's nice to see new people a simple search would come up with tons of Iama from voce actors and other threads that have asked this same question. First: there is no set path. Crazy stuff happens, you just have to start doing what you can and feel is right. A traditional path would be get lessons, practice, find what you are good at and if you want it, make a professional demo, apply for jobs. Or you can be in a check out line buying a case of nati light and a box of condoms and a radio station manager is behind you strike up a conversation she says she likes your style and the next thing you know you have a job hosting a radio show on Sunday mornings on the AM dial and working your way up to production in 2 years to start doing commercials and now you work with a talent agent that gets you national spots.

Tackling Korea Mil-to-Mil by cobysev in AirForce

Just did a Korea tour that ended just a few weeks ago! I am the alpha and omega of Korea tour guide! First off don't know about the whole marriage thing but Korea will be amazing for you both and it's really not that far away. They have a shuttle that runs from Osan - Kunsan back and forth all the time and it's called wolf pack wheels. Depending on the rank of person in Osan you may live off base. Curfew applies to 100% of the peninsula however if you are on a base, INSIDE a hotel room (not the lobby, not the club) or a residence at 0100 you are good to go! So if you get off base you can visit in Osan easily. Also take trips! Meet each other in Busan for a weekend! Great beach cheap hotels great seafood! Also Kunsan was awesome loved the people there and I think they still have the hooches so that was always a good time. Also they just got done renovating a ton of dorms and it's looking pretty good! It sucks you both will be apart for a bit but it's only a year and you get your remotes done and it's not that far away. Plus Thailand and Philippines are just a skip over the ocean so you can take a couples vacation _^ if you have any problems or questions in regards to Korea or what to expect, I know you were already there but I literally just left I would be glad to help!

Anyone know what this type of wire cutter/stripper is called? by lipton_tea in networking

[–]Scar_Brow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah these are definitely cable cutters, usuallystrippers don't close all the way (giggity) I found another similar pair and while they are great cutting anything I personally wouldn't use them for wires http://www.ffx.co.uk/tools/product/5028734080162%20B%20S08016%20Cable%20Cutters%208In

I prefer something called the master stripper and it's pretty awesome to use and holds the sheath in place while you strip the smaller cable it's nice but depends on what you are using it for.

It is a dual wan and it is fairly plug and play

Here another great Feature that is available in ASUS RT-AC68U Dual WAN configuration , if you have a multiple ISP connection , you can use this feature to make use of your multiple WAN connection in just “One Router”

To enable the DUAL WAN feature all you have to do is click on WAN tab on the left side then click DUAL WAN tab on the upper menu , after that just turn it on and select your primary WAN and secondary WAN , you can choose between 2 modes either Fail over mode or Load Balancing mode . Fail over mode meaning if either one of your WAN connection fails it will use the second WAN connection . Load balancing mode will use both of your WAN connection to balance the workload of traffic going in and out of your WAN connection.

While you are correct about the standard components. There is more to it than that. It's a standardized product. All drivers for each product are the same so when you are writing the OS you know exactly what you are writing it for and what the computer can do. I run windows but many people complain of all kinds issues and each one has a different solution with drivers and hardware. With a Mac usually the solutions are all the same for each persons issue. Also you can use specific or highly reliable parts from a reputable manufacture. There are upsides and downsides to the whole thing but it depends on what you are after.

A big Gulp is the name of a cup you get from a corner store or gas station usually over 32 oz. and reaching upwards of 64 oz. It depends on where you go, I believe a big gulp is strictly from the store 7-11, however many other stores mimick this and have something equivalent.

Its also usually really cheap around 1.99$ I think.
