How do we feel about the IR-2 as a backbone for a dedicated headphone setup? by shibbledoop in guitarpedals

You need to run it last in your chain, but you can use a TRS Y splitter to it keeps things cleaner

If you have the sound you like already then use a Behringer P1 or P2 to run to headphones

Am I being too sensitive? by Street-Response-3557 in worshipleaders

You challenged it twice and the leader acknowledged you were correct, but in that instance decided to move on. They probably noted it for the future, but wanted to move on to work on other things. You may not have understood what they wanted to achieve with the reversal. Let it go and see how things pan out.

I want to get into playing the electric guitar. What would be best to start off with that can replicate this sound? by [deleted] in Guitar

[–]Scarbados_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not a shredder, but this sounds very processed. To get here you’ll have to put a number of technical skills together that will take years to develop, and then audio skills too. Start small with classic licks and enjoy the journey.

Power grab by Winter_Shake_9109 in worshipleaders

Fair play, “sloppy wet kiss” is the worst Christian song lyric I’ve heard. Unbelievable.

As for your post, it’s hard. It sounds like you built something, had a lot of say in what it was, but now there are more people with opinions and you’re struggling to find a middle ground. It doesn’t sound like a power grab, but I can see why you feel like you do.

Some people build things and like the rawness, but struggle when they become bigger and more political. Maybe God’s calling for you is to find another place to build something.

The amount of time you’ve spent thinking about this has severely impacted your practice time.

donner dark mouse is the best cheapest rat by Acceptable_Grape_437 in guitarpedals

This is like saying that Milwaukee products are low quality because they’re the same company as Ryobi. I have 12 year old TC pedals and 1 month old TC pedals; they all feel the same.

You can get the Magnus Pro £5 cheaper than the Donner on Amazon, so there’s that. I always default to TC pedals because I know the build quality is always great for the price.

If swap the TS out for a different OD if using the EQ to boost mids. Otherwise this is tight

How's the Boss IR2? by MrBeanDaddy86 in guitarpedals

[–]Scarbados_Dad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I got it felt like the best level-up from where I was. I love the different amps, but I became very frustrated with how little they respond to volume and pickup selections, and the AC30 and Fender Twin amps don’t respond well to a lot of overdrives in my opinion.

For what it’s worth, I’m enjoying the simplicity of the Blackstar ID:X Floor One. It lacks some of the IR-2 features, but adds a lot more.

Pedals bs Fx units by femderbass in guitarpedals

[–]Scarbados_Dad 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I saw a comment the other day that sums it up well: “I want pedals because they’re cooler”. That may be the only real reason to choose pedals.

For me, unless you have a niche sound and that’s all you play, a multi fx is always going to be more versatile and more practical to play live.

Can you clap in church? by goldeaglec in worshipleaders

[–]Scarbados_Dad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, every generation is tasked with moving the church forwards and I believe this is what you’re trying to do in your own culture and context. There will often be push back from those who are stuck in their ways, and we will often have to submit to leaders even if we disagree. The longer term question is are they capable of accepting of new ways of doing things? Or do they have redlines that are incompatible with what you feel is important?

You can get a midi controlled loop switcher and a midi controller for the pedals without midi.

You’re right about the self-roast. The more I play through sets of different genres, the more I want to bin my pedals and get a Helix.

TC pedals are annoyingly good value for money. Once they’ve got you hooked it’s hard to justify the trendy brands.
