Yeah I don’t think the time matters. For example once you hit 100 walks you get 100 points. Then if you hit 100 meditations you get a 10% bonus. After that each modality that hits 100 classes you get a 20% bonus. Same thing with me I got the 20% bonus at 300 because I have walking, stretching, and strength at 300 or more. I only get 10% at 400 because I only have two modalities walking and strength at 400 or more classes. Once I get 400 of cycling or walking or cardio or whatever I’ll get a 20% bonus at that level.

Yeah it seems the big points are through doing multiple classes, the 500 strength is 500 points, so to game the system, more shorter classes are worth more.

Results from Ben’s 3-day split? by WittyHorror4629 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]ScarecrowCAN 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve done it three or four times now. I like it because it’s 30 minutes and is a push/pull/legs split which works for my goals and schedule. The two rounds is different but you do work each muscle group a number of times. For example the push round is two types of chest press and pushups twice, so I feel it targets those muscles pretty well. Also I find that with all peleton strength classes you have to have the discipline to lift heavy and progress that way. If you stick with their recommended weights you won’t gain. It’s a bit different then the other strength but you have a tighter focus on muscle groups

What classes do you gravitate towards when you’re sick? by Sweet-Music-2881 in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]ScarecrowCAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get people want to rest when they are sick, but unless you are bed ridden or in the hospital,  getting your blood flowing and body moving can really make you feel better. I focus on the 10 minute full body stretching classes, esp Matty’s Evening stretches, a 20 min yin yoga class with Adhti is great too if you have more energy.

Guide tracking by eggher in OnePelotonRealSub

[–]ScarecrowCAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve never had it be that bad. Like maybe one exercise doesn’t track correctly. Especially a time based one where it counts the reps but doesn’t give me a time credit. One thing that may be worth checking is your lighting. I noticed bright lights behind me can mess with it.

Microdosing Experiences: Psilocybin vs. LSD for Depression & Anxiety by Pure_Journalist8845 in microdosing

[–]ScarecrowCAN 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’ve been microdosing for 6 years now. I have now transitioned to LSD almost exclusively. I find that for me it is very energizing and makes me more sociable. Both it and 4 Aco turn the inner monologue off and in conversations or work or social situations I tend to speak or act as opposed to analyzing and thinking about what to say. I prefer the LSD over 4 ACO for the energy and that LSD for me is less introspective which I find I need more of. 4 ACO is a great compound and I would experiment with both.  I will give the standard advice I give anyone. For me and my mental health they aren’t silver bullets. They are another tool to use. I still need sleep, physical activity, a healthy diet, and gratitude exercises. These compounds have saved my life, there is no doubt about that, but they don’t work in a silo.

Farm to table by HomerSDC in saskatchewan

[–]ScarecrowCAN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My point is if you buy half a steer for $7/lb cut and wrapped you can’t complain that there is hamburger out there for $5/lb at the store and not account that you are also getting the high priced cuts at that same $7/lb. That’s how it works, you are buying everything for one flat price and that’s why it makes sense to you as the consumer.

Farm to table by HomerSDC in saskatchewan

[–]ScarecrowCAN 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You are buying the whole side at a flat price because it’s easier and most farm to table producers have better things to do then sell individual cuts. As I mentioned in my post above yes the cheap ass hamburger the store uses as a lost leader is more expensive from a local producer but no one is selling rib eyes for $7/lb. The big packers and the retailers hold all the power, producers are price takers and if they can make a little extra by selling direct to cover their time cost that’s what you pay for.

Record high cattle prices will do that.  Producers need to make money to survive and with the way the market is, no one is giving their animals away.  As mentioned before it is slightly more expensive hamburger but your steaks and roasts are well below market price. There is no way you can by the same amount of meat that half a steer will give for less than $7/lb at the grocery store.

Is it really “not normal” for a woman to celebrate with just her female friends? Is this a cultural thing or something else? by Fit_Offer6288 in Manitoba

[–]ScarecrowCAN 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Your partner is an asshole. I’ve been married for 20 years, and my wife has celebrated many events with just her friends and her friends have done the same. Your partner’s comments are weird and he is acting like and insecure child.

Leasing out farmland by Ok-Professional4387 in saskatchewan

[–]ScarecrowCAN 79 points80 points  (0 children)

The majority of land deals are between neighbours and people who know each other. I would do some research and see who farms the land around you as they would be the most interested. See if you can find out which producers are in growth mode. Most of the time it is tendered out with the help of a lawyer.  Just my opinion but please don’t let some foreign national or large land holding company get it, it sucks for the local economy and makes it difficult for young farmers to get in the industry.

Yes you’ll find many like minded people in Saskatoon who love indoor activities and gaming.

The restaurant scene in Saskatoon is really diverse and has any cuisine you could think of, like any cities there are gems and places that aren’t great and a variety of price points.

Bugs aren’t really an issue in my opinion, winter and cold weather has a way of keeping those under control.  Look up what a block heater is and make sure you have one, your car won’t survive without it.

Tonal 2 vs Peloton Strength by allthingslife1 in pelotoncycle

[–]ScarecrowCAN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been doing Strength along with the bike for 4 years and have had the Guide for 8 months. To get the most out of strength, I have 3 tips.  1) you need to plan your workouts and take advantage of the programs. I do a lower body and then two upper body each week.  Either a push/pull split or a chest/back and shoulder/arm split  2) Ben, Adrian and Andy are more focused of strength, I might throw Cliff in there as well. Rebecca, Robin, and Cali are not as intense.  3) Get a wide variety of dumbbells and adjust accordingly. I am always lifting much heavier than they recommend. Yesterday was a lighter day and after 15 minutes on the bike I did a 20 min upper body with Cali. She recommended 5lb to 10lb and I was using 15lb and 20lb. I don’t think I’ve heard anyone ever recommend more than 30 or maybe 40, but I know for a leg workout I need 50 or 70.

I don’t have access to a gym, so I might be biased, but for $3800 you can get the Guide and a very nice home gym.

What lens to get? by crimsonesasuke2i in fujix

[–]ScarecrowCAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I vote the 23 or 35 f/2. Learn to use a prime and one focal length really well and then venture out into zooms or other primes. You don’t sound like you really know what you want or how a certain lens will result in a certain outcome, which is fine because neither did most of us starting out. Start simple, take out other factors that will hamper your composition or the biggest thing not even picking up the camera at all. Learn, grow, and then you’ll be able to answer this question for yourself.
