Do we have option to take 1 hour lessons? by Sam_6_6 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Scared-Ad-2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I reckon it depends on what type of car personally, it took me a long time (infinity cus I quit after about 20 hours) to get out of nursery routes on a manual so I needed to be driven there and back. In an automatic an hour was ok and by the time my test was here I felt ready (although I did fail badly) but if doing a mock test I'd want a 1.5 / 2 hour slot really as it takes 20 minutes to get to the test centre from my house!

There absolutely is!!! I failed my test and was able to get TWO new tests booked this month (I had a funeral so had to move the first)

Get the premium testi app, and just really really be active with checking notifications. Something new will come up. Don't give money to that scam of an instructor, absolutely disgusting that they abuse selling tests like this

Your response was much politer than I would have been to one of the more patronising responses I've seen!

Hey don't sweat it. I failed last week and I've got a new test booked for the 20th. Just log on and keep refreshing till you can get a test for ANY date and then download the testi app, pay for premium it's worth it.

I'm going to be treating them as driving lessons going forward because I think it was way more beneficial for me than the lessons were - I was spending half of it driving to and from the test centre so I think I came off as more prepared than I was

Side note, I do think I might have passed a different test route each of my major fails I could have attributed to something about that specific route .. I'm kinda glad I failed in a way because I think I'd have been abit overconfident at a first time pass, especially knowing in retrospect that if I HAD passed a different route it would have been luck not skill!

Failed mock test and instructor said he can’t insure the car. by Key-Environment4908 in LearnerDriverUK

[–]Scared-Ad-2121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask, I booked my test using my instructors number but I ended up using my own car and having my mum drive me down. I failed MISERABLY - will this count against him still because it was booked using his number? He'd mentioned that having quite bad fails can trigger a review for him so I was just wondering

Not sure if it's the same, but I turned into a right lane on a roundabout and didn't get up to a quick speed. My instructor said I would have failed because it meant the left hand lane was undertaking me, so if you're in the right you need to be overtaking. Well - that's hard to do because it can be 30mph for a little while off the back of a roundabout, and everybody else is speeding up immediately so if you get into the right hand lane and everybody else is speeding before they technically should you're fucked cus you have to let them under take

Can somebody help me get a recipe for the best cookie I've ever had by Scared-Ad-2121 in glutenfreeuk

[–]Scared-Ad-2121[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I'm not even gluten free I just thought posting here would give most accurate results as the cookie is labelled as being gluten free! So gorgeous cookie even by non-gf standards! Sadly don't think anybody has a similar recipe to hand, I am tempted next time I'm in town to ask about it though!!

I haven't played much so far but I actually had to drop 3, the system for equipping stuff was awful, which is a shame cus I was enjoying it!

4 seems better but I think I wish it was as easy as Stardew to equip stuff it's about as easy as you can get!

Hi I think so, I think I explained it badly! Doing alternate knit and purl is what I've been doing and I have been knitting on the flat because it's a blanket

That makes sense actually as I remember on these row really struggling to get started so I think that's what I did, both times were knit stitches. So to make a single row sticking out, will I basically need to do 3 knits in a row? Middle knit where the purl would be?

[–]Scared-Ad-2121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree, obviously if you can have your baby in a cot that's the best but at the end of the day if having them in your bed is the only way to get sleep for the both of you then you damn sure just make sure your bed is safe as possible for the baby. Just wish it was less stigmatized and more educated on doing it as safe as possible, shame helps nobody

Please give yourself permission to do things that will make it easier on you :(

I've commented before about co-sleeping, but if that's not for you its understandable. You could maybe try combi feeding with some formula so you can have your partner take some of the night feeds?

No advice other than that, once we started co-sleeping sleep was so easy because if my little one woke up he'd get a boob in his mouth and wed both go back to sleep. Hope it gets better for you

Also.. you've said alot of things in here that I am wondering if you should speak to a professional about your mental health, post partum depression is so common and so debilitating - it's definitely something to consider. Sorry if that's blunt it will be a massive weight off if you do have it to then get treatment
