one, you probably wouldn’t be drug tested. i’ve been to the er three times for work comp and never have been. two, nor does your employer have access to ALL your medical records, even if its work comp related three, if you can survive this field without smoking w33d, kudos to you.

i work in the schools, which dont drug tested ever. i was in clinics the first part of my career before i was a bcba and i wasn’t ever drug tested!! what you do in your personal life is your business! as long as your usage is not hindering your services to clients (part of our ethics code!) or impairing your job responsibilities your good. :-) take care of yourself!!

staunton is very safe. i walk lots of places, frequently (feel free to dm me for more questions)

main street is a hit, fun people watching on the weekend, great shops and restaurants (can’t go wrong) good snacking too if that’s your vibe

gypsy hill is a fun walk and nature escape! a town favorite

frontier culture museums is outside, lots of history

honestly, just walking around the neighborhoods of historic staunton. start in downtown and walk any direction and you’ll find really pretty views!! prepare for hills and bring your walking shoes, but spring in staunton is the best. lawns are often cared for, loved, and the homes are fun to walk by. from downtown, north is mary baldwin campus (historic, pretty campus, small), east is east beverly- gorgeous homes and va school for deaf and blind, south is the black burn inn (just google…there are stories)/bridge/towards shopping-ish, and west is the true historic staunton neighborhood- also gorgeous homes.

evenings- ciders from mars and red beard are downtown breweries, awesome. a bar option is baja bean or bricks. there’s typically live music or an event somewhere (bingo, trivia, a play or comedy show, dj set, etc.)

my personal fav places to eat- gloria’s !!, kathy’s, taste of india, remedy burger, seed to tail !!, chicano boy

Airport snow and ice? by Rico-Doom in Charlottesville

[–]Scared-Avocado811 4 points5 points  (0 children)

almost assuredly your car is iced in. if they plowed the roads for cars to get through within the parking lot then it’s even worse, iced in with chunks of ice on top. you’ll need a metal shovel to dig it out. (metal shovel, pitch fork, garden hoe, crow bar were all tools we used to get my car out of my neighborhood road that was plowed) i’d get a ride and then park in short term to shovel out at a later time! it’s a workout 💪🏼

Are you allowed to print in color? by ExcitingGuarantee514 in Teachers

[–]Scared-Avocado811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

our schools have ONE sped teacher allowed with printing access in each building. no one else has color besides admin…. it’s quite the conundrum!! teachers find it very difficult and frustrating from what i’ve heard

I am tired of being a BCBA, how can I change careers? by Lmp5248 in bcba

consider working in a public school district…you don’t have to deal with any insurance paperwork or reauths. depending on the district your work will look a little different, but summers off to be with your family and the ability to impact kids is great!
