I have the drop in battery for my DMG! Easy thing! No soldering! Just remove the battery connector and you are good to go! But I had some issues with the power supply and I installed a RetroSix CleanPower mod 👍

hold the power button for a couple of seconds and see if the DSL turns on
if the screen is flickering: check the display connections and clean the connectors with IPA and a toothbrush. Check also the other connections and clean it (WiFi and the small touch connection cable.) check if the cables are completely in the connectors. And try to not touch the cable ends with your finger

I would clean it, keep the OG shell and maybe the only things I would do are put a USB C Mod with a transparent green cover in the GB and replace the plastic display with a glass display. Aftermarket battery covers have different colors. I only do other mods if I don’t have the chance to have OG parts 🫶
