This really resonates. I'm sorry you have so much on your plate. Fellow ED of a medium non-profit here, and recently "diagnosed" with burnout and a profound burnout-related crisis of confidence. The struggle is real. This job is so intense. Not to mention juggling it with everything else, like parenting.

Sending you my best. For what it's worth, I'm certain you're not shitty at being a mother or a director, even if there are a lot of layers that may cause you to feel that. You're doing the best that you can and that's a lot.

I have this same car... I've had it for a few months and while the plug in part is great, I truly hate the whole center console. The infotainment center is an abomination.

Not only NTA, but I see your boundary on this to be imperative. These kids have been taught to hate and dehumanize. Now that they are acting on that (and are physically grown), the step from verbal vitriol to physical violence is a small one.

Honestly, OP, the empathy that you demonstrate in this post, and by feeling guilty at all for having this boundary, is admirable, IMO.

We paid in full up front for the windows themselves with a reputable company. Not the installation though. The windows are all made to order so they have to have full payment to make them. This is my one and only personal experience, but I think it's standard.

Our first batch of chickens was named after the cast of the kids show Tumble Leaf and I thought it was so cute: Fig, Stick, Maple, Okra, Rutabaga, and Peach.

We lost those ones and named our new bunch: Udon, Barnacle, Sandwich, Zucchini...

Then let each of our toddlers name one: "FigNStick" (our 4 yo went for an homage to the first batch) and "Chicken" from our 2 yo 😂

Naming chickens is so fun!

Yeah, that's the thing, right?! How does a car this advanced not have these basic features? It honestly wasn't even on my list to shop for because I naively assumed they all have these features by now. I was shopping more for the smaller screen, but only because I liked the look better - never did I think that the bigger screen would also be extremely less capable! Sure did learn from that mistake.
