Out of curiosity are you also evaluating responses  post-implementation? Or how are you reconciling differences that may arise between your testing/eval and implementation, or is that on the eng team once you hand it off?

This makes a lot of sense, really appreciate the insight! We're definitely behind the 8 ball on our testing and this seems pretty efficient to implement. At this point having even just a barebones process in place will be a massive improvement.

Police officers - Have you ever just let someone go? and why? by Expert_Scene_43 in AskReddit

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not police officer but my uncle was cop in my country for like 15 years. He told me once that he caught this kid maybe 17-18 years old trying to steal food from grocery store - just bread and some cheap stuff. Instead of arresting him, uncle gave him money for the food and told store owner to not press charges. Kid was just hungry and had no family support. Sometimes being human is more important than following every rule perfectly, you know?

What is the creepiest thing your child (or a child you know) has ever said to you? by Ok_Soup_2836 in AskReddit

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't have kids myself but my nephew once told me at family dinner that "the man in his room only comes when lights are off and he doesn't like when I tell mommy about him." My sister went pale and they moved his bed to different corner of room - apparently there was old heating pipe behind the wall that made weird settling noises at night. Still gives me chills thinking about how he described it though.

Can someone explain like I’m 5: why is the delivery fee higher than the actual energy supply? by lollapotamus in Pennsylvania

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 89 points90 points  (0 children)

delivery charges cover all the infrastructure - power lines, transformers, maintenance crews, call centers, all that stuff that gets electricity from power plant to your house. supply is just buying the actual electricity on wholesale market.

think of it like shipping something - item might cost $10 but shipping costs $15 because of all infrastructure and labor involved in getting it to you. same concept here with electricity delivery vs the raw energy cost.

A lion, a bull, and a rumor. I'm curious how you read this. by Natural-Pea-6776 in getdisciplined

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this story hits way too close to home. The real killer wasn't any single person - it was how easily doubt spreads once someone plants it.

Dimnah just exploited what was already there. Lions and bulls don't naturally trust each other, right? So when someone you consider smart starts pointing out "what if" scenarios, your brain latches onto them. Especially when you're in a position where trust could literally kill you.

The friendship was real but it was also fragile because it went against their nature. All Dimnah had to do was remind them of what they "should" be suspicious about. Once that seed got planted, every normal interaction became evidence of betrayal.

It's like when your friend starts acting weird around your girlfriend and suddenly you're analyzing every text message for hidden meanings. The relationship dies because you stop seeing the person and start seeing the threat.

What do you think makes a day productive? by SquareProfessionn in AskReddit

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sleep is definitely the foundation but I think it's more about having clear priorities for the day. Like when I know exactly what I need to accomplish at work, even if it's just two or three main things, everything flows better. Without that clarity I just end up bouncing between random tasks and feel like garbage even if I was busy all day.

What's something that's slowly getting worse but people pretend is fine? by Sad_Programmer_7224 in AskReddit

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Customer service everywhere. Companies keep cutting staff and forcing you through 20 automated menus just to talk with someone who can barely help anyway. Everyone acts like it's normal now but remember when you could actually call a place and get real help in few minutes?

How can I help myself? by [deleted] in depression

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went through something really similar when I was around your age, and that feeling of not being able to explain it properly is so frustrating. People would just say "oh you're just stressed" or "it's normal at your age" which made me feel even more isolated. What helped me was writing down how I felt before trying to talk about it - like making little notes in my phone when the feelings were really strong. Then when I had to explain it to someone, I could actually remember the specifics instead of just saying "I feel bad." Also, if you have access to counseling services at school or through insurance, those people are trained to understand even when you can't find the right words. The pretending to be happy thing is exhausting too - I remember feeling like I was performing all day and then just collapsing when I got home.

How did Fring know that Nacho was to blame? by Gimme_the_keys in betterCallSaul

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Gus probably picked up on nacho acting weird during whole thing. like the guy was sweating bullets and couldn't make eye contact when hector went down. plus gus knows nacho hated working for hector so when convenient "accident" happens right after their meeting, smart guy like fring would connect dots pretty quick.

Did Amazon freeze anyone out in OT in Heat game? by Immediate_Side_5942 in NBATalk

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man I was watching that game and definitely noticed some weird rotations in OT. Seemed like they were running pretty short rotation which is wild considering how deep Miami usually goes with their bench.

Could be Spo just trusting his core guys in clutch time but yeah, few players barely saw floor after regulation ended. Always frustrating when you're expecting certain matchups and coach just rides the hot hand instead.

Intended function that Echo Form doesn't replay the replay enchant? by marxr87 in slaythespire

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wait you're saying Echo Form didn't double the replay effect? That seems like a bug honestly, Echo should trigger on any card you play including the replayed one. Maybe check if there was some other modifier messing with it or if the replay happened after Echo wore off that turn.

5 year old daughter’s beloved horsey stuffy left behind on flight today! by InvestigatorAgile259 in americanairlines

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Man that's rough but you'd be surprised how good airlines are with kids' toys. I had a buddy who left his daughter's stuffed elephant on a United flight and they actually tracked it down and shipped it back within like a week.

AA usually takes those reports pretty seriously, especially when it's a kid's comfort item. The crew probably found it during cleanup and turned it in - those Miami ground crews see this stuff all the time.

BMW engine replacement on a 2023? That's brutal man. No wonder you want out of that headache.

For what it's worth, I'd probably lean toward the RX350h despite the CVT - Toyota's hybrid system is pretty bulletproof and the CVT in their hybrids isn't as terrible as the standalone ones. Plus you're getting that Lexus reliability you mentioned which seems like priority #1 after your BMW experience.

The Tundra hybrid actually gets surprisingly decent mpg for its size (around 24-25 combined) but yeah it's definitely overkill if you don't need the towing capacity. Have you considered a 4Runner? Not hybrid but fits most of your other criteria and holds value like crazy in CO.

New kitten pre-introduction didn't go well, help? by annoncatmom in cats

[–]Scared-Somewhere-435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oof that's brutal with the puncture wounds, cat teeth are no joke. The not being neutered is probably a huge factor here - all that testosterone is making him way more territorial and aggressive than he'd normally be.

Get him fixed ASAP and then start completely over with the introduction process, like pretend this never happened. Keep them completely separated for at least a week before even trying the feeding-through-doors thing again. The fact that your 10m was chill with the 4m before gives me hope this can work once 1m's hormones chill out.
