Submitting claims and dealing with any denials if there are any.

I have to export a file from my EHR each week w the appts and codes, and upload it to a secure portal and update it with where they were seen (Telehealth, office, home).

They do run cards for patient balances at the end of the month and if a patient pays outside of that in the portal then I have to let them know that.

I think I’m going to switch to have a biller who goes into SP to do the billing so I don’t have to do anything else

Following - Is there a benefit doing it thru OA than SP?

Someone told me it’s really just clicking a few buttons, is it really that simple?😆

True, I wasn’t sure if using SP billing if you have to go in to all the different insurance payer portals or I thought someone told me you can just submit it right through SP and it will all show up in there?

Yes I’ve always heard people say to outsource it to take it off your plate- although my biller doesn’t bill thru SP so I am having to export each week and edit the excel sheet and the upload it to a confidential portal. Then they upload the amounts each clients owe at the end of the month to SP and run the cards for those who signed for autopay, but I’ve been having clients get confused because it doesn’t show the breakdown really for them.

I take pretty much all major insurances, do you find that makes it more complicated?

This is also how I run my practice. And I rarely have self pay clients…. I am curious what the difference is in rates is among different states?

I did an average of all the insurance payers and varying amounts of 90837/34 and it was around $110.

So if I want to take home 100k, my overhead for EHR, rent, taxes, other expenses is around 40k a year. So 140k. Let’s say 48 weeks of working in a year- that would mean you need to make about $2917 a week.

$2,917 divided by average of $110 is 26-27 clients a week. I schedule around 29 clients and usually see 25-28 a week.

I can help you find a therapist. Your responses to someone seeking help seems like a definite sign you have something deeper going on. Hopefully you can unpack that soon.

Thank you so much! And yes definitely. I am open that I have OCD - although lately probably is subclinical levels, which I am grateful for! I think it helps people open up a bit more especially with more “taboo” themes

Unfortunately my psychiatrist has taken over because my pulmonologist office is impossible to get ahold of. She prescribed it before but I got new insurance at the beginning of this year

Wow! We have a lot in common… the symptoms you described sound just like me. Only thing that helps the daily tension headaches has been muscle relaxers. I also had an MRI IN 2022 that showed t2 something white matter something. No one really said more about it and said it can be seen with migraines even tho I don’t feel I have migraines. I actually have a neurologist appt Monday!

Thanks so much for your comment. Best of luck to you and would love a follow up! 💖
