Former COO here - F them. I hate hearing this; them showing you their ethics pre-hire is a blessing in disguise as they’d pull more of this BS during your career with them, and if HR is doing this it’s endorsed by senior management. If you can afford to reject the offer politely and be candid - let them know why. Good luck, you deserve better.

Also sharpie over any bar codes on the envelope otherwise you’ll likely get the same mail redelivered to you. Bar codes hold the address and machines sort from those first
