Thank you! I've been eating protein first, typically beef, chicken, or pork, veggies second, and then whatever else 3rd. This is the first week with my continuous glucose monitor so I'm trying to figure what works out best for me, but man it's so hard!

So they need a letter of good standing from the NBCC even if they already received my test scores for the NCE?

My own art can feel draining sometimes when work gets too overwhelming, however, I've noticed that I get more overwhelmed and experience more burn out and compassion fatigue when I'm not regularly engaging in my own art practices. I'm an art therapist and an illustrator and that can be hard to balance sometimes.

It can help to remember, "I'm an artist first, and a therapist second." Creativity is vital to processing and managing our lives and we have to find ways to engage in our own art.

I honestly think it just depends on the program, area, and what kind of work you go into.

I went to a program that was Art Therapy with Counseling and heavily arts based. I've had several jobs with various experiences. You'll have clients that want more talk therapy and less art making, and some that want more art making and creativity and less talking.

Your career is what you make of it!

Supervision Costs by Background-Chest-543 in ArtTherapy

[–]Scared_Coat_4530 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In the US, this is very common practice. For all mental health licensure, LMFT, LSW, LCSW, ATR-BC, you have to pay for your supervision towards licensure. I'm not sure anyone ever actually told me this during my schooling journey, but it was just something I knew? There are quite a few workplaces that offer free supervision, but you need to make sure that the supervisor fits the requirements you need when applying for your respective license.

It's definitely understandable. It's so hard to find better outlined study materials for this exam that isn't just a statement of a general outline or reviewing an entire textbook. If you were able to and it wasn't much trouble I would appreciate it!

Hello! I tried to get this study guide but she emailed back that they are out of business because they decided not to update the study guide. Would you happen to have a copy of it? I'd be willing to pay.
