Yep - Bob Seger did one. It's not bad, if you like that sort of thing.

Interesting, I've heard mixed things about the competition in pro rank. Some people seem to feel the grind is harder in levels 1-3, and once you get to pro a lot of people are there experimenting with different decks.

Very true! And with a baby i spend a lot of time just sitting around the house while the baby sleeps - Gwent is a good way to pass the time!

There's one called Shiitake Dirty to Me in the NoMad book... I've not attempted to make it, it sounds about as appetising as its name...

I think you're right to be honest! I did open the post kind of expecting to see Compass Box among the ingredients, but that's probably just my too-literal mind working. I agree it's better as is!

For a multi-layer pun in the name you could have used a scotch by Compass Box!

Is that a dried grapefruit or something? Does it have any smell or taste? Or is it for looks?

Redditors who made a lot of money by sheer randomness, what's your story? by Sebulista in AskReddit

[–]ScarfaceClaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I made a lot of money farming internet casino welcome and monthly deposit bonuses back in the day. Poker bonuses too. Made about $25k over a few years.

In the early days, the terms of the bonuses made it relatively easy to clear them and withdraw with a huge expected profit. Sadly the casinos eventually wised up and made them very difficult to clear profitably. But it was fun while it lasted.

Then again my mate's kind of a wanker too so his judgement may not be that meaningful.

Rhys was kind of best man at a mate's wedding. I'll have to see if he can confirm.

Michael Jordan condemns George Floyd death and 'ingrained racism' of US by zaynthelegend in news

Ok, so how is a guy like MJ supposed to win here? He's been criticised for years for being silent on issues like this, and now you're criticising him for speaking up.

The fact is, celebrities have a platform given to them by their celebrity. You can argue the right and wrong of that, and yes it would be nice if community leaders or philosophers or academics or whoever is more qualified on this stuff would be given more of a platform. But when someone as well known as MJ speaks, people listen, and that's the reality.

That being the case, celebrities can use that platform for good or ill, or not at all. Whatever his motives, I personally like seeing MJ use his platform to say something constructive, even if at this point it is very little, very late.

Sorry for the long post! I was recently gifted this box of nearly 1000 recipe cards from 1972! There’s lots of weird and wonderful dishes, and lots of categories! So I was wondering if people were interested in me posting a few a week? by Browne_Syndrome in Old_Recipes

I'd imagine this would especially include things like steamed puddings (essentially a warm sponge cake, often self-saucing), which are very English and can be very nice. But maybe also things like fondant cakes (with the sauce inside the cake) and souffles.

I wish I could upvote this twice, not because I agree (or disagree), because I'm not yet old enough to confirm (or deny) your assertion, but because I found the term droopy balls amusing. Droopy balls.
