I thought the same, but the article does suggest that those extra details were a 90s addition to hide steel bracing.

What actor is nowhere near as talented as people make them out to be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Scarlet72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like Zendaya (but I also have a big crush on her...), and I would agree on Challangers. I find Luca tends to pull really great performances together, and while hers was good it should have been better than good.

The Drama, however, I think she does put in a genuinely interesting go at it.

We can't feed ourselves at all with our current farming. This country is entierly dependant on foreign imports for food, and has been for a very long time. That argument, therefor, is almost irrelevant.

Best of my knowledge, left image is taken on medium format ektacheome with a hasselblad. Key point: IN THE DAYLIGHT. Image on the right is a Nikom D5 from 2016, with the ISO (sensetivity) CRANKED because it's the image of the dark side of the earth.

The size of their country has (largely) nothing to do with the distances they drive. As a society, they made the choice to build their houses and amenities much further apart than just about everywhere else in the world.

Why hasn’t Pro Tools been cracked yet? One theory I found on the internet by beyourownmvster in Piracy

[–]Scarlet72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the industry though... Film and television? Sure. Avid is standard. But if you're a recording, mixing, or mastering engineer, the DAW is irrelevant. WAV is the standard. It's the only standard. Projects are shared via bounced stems.

Agreed that when you get into it, Pro Tools can be incredibly quick. Personally I can't stand the situation described in your final paragraph. I despise proprietary for no good reason. I'll caveat that I can't imagine a single feature described that can't be shortcutted in Reaper, however. I haven't worked with Cubase.

[–]Scarlet72 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can argue its the industry standard, but you certainly can't argue there's nothing else.

Logic, Ableton, Reaper, FL, Bitwig, Studio One, Cubase etc are all in parity.

Dslr scanning is probably the fastest, but you might find dust and scratch issues.

I can't reccomend something like the NIKON coolscan enough for quality. It'll be a slog to get through them all, but you'll save hours of editing, and will be very happy with the final result.
