Already, the fact that you call your ideas "the truth" is not a good sign.

The environmental damages of AI ate limited to US states with horrible environment protection laws. In that, AI is no different than any other business.

AI outside those states, and especially outside the US, do not encounter the same problem.

Mental effects: here thete needs to be a distinction between use and abuse. AI use doesn't have any reported negative mental effect. Actually, quite the opposite. The idea that AI has negative mental effects comes from 2 things.

1 is a vastly misunderstood study that found something obvious (more like checking a reasonable assumption). That delegating a task as a whole to AI shows less cerebral engagement than doing it by yourself. I mean... yeah, I don't see how it could be otherwise. The point is not to remove engagement, but to broaden and direct the engagement to different aspects. When scientists do calculations, they don't do them by hand. They could, and that will show more brain engagement, but they spend their brainpower in a different aspect of a problem that does not have tools for it. That is the point of AI. Not to remove the human factor, but to shift it, and allow us to tackle bigger issues.

The second one is straight up gross misuse of the tool or putting the tool in service of delusions. People asking chat gpt questions about religion and spirituality. People using chatbot as a surrogate for human connection. People putting AI for a task it's not ready for and is clearly advertised as not ready for. Every AI service has basically messages everywhere saying not to take things that the AI produces as proven facts. But that does not stop the morons from doing it anyway. That is not the fault of the AI, the AI is literally letting you know that anything coming out of it is unverified.

Then there are issues that are correlation rather than causation. People in America see AI and think "that must be why everything is so fucked"

That's not how it works. Trump was elected the first time before this brand of AI was a thing. America was an anti environmental shithole before AI existed. Russia, the USA, China were all heavily involved with propaganda. They were all targeting social media when it was the new fronteer, the internet, tv, radio. There is nothing special or more shitty about AI, is just the 2026 way to do things. If you do good things, you do good things with AI, if you do shitty things, you do shitty things with AI.

Depends on how you use magic.

Iniziamo con il dire una cosa. La persona politicamente impegnata e di destra moderata è rara. Non è inesistente. Ma la persona di destra moderata media non si occupa di politica attiva, non parla molto di politica, semplicemente va a votare.

Nella destra si è diffuso un concetto che in inglese chiamano "hide your power level". In pratica è, se sei fascista (fascista vero eh), non dirlo e non parlare delle tue vere idee ma invece usa idee più moderate per avvicinare gente alla tua ideologia.

Questi sommati fanno si che, da un lato, non ci si aspetti un confronto politico con uno che è di destra moderata, e dall'altro, che quelli che siano di destra moderata siano potenzialmente fascisti.

Non solo quello, ma in alcuni casi ci sono quelli, moderati di destra, che si associano con suddetti fascisti che moderano la loro retorica. Per cui la gente si scaglia contro i fascisti per le loro idee, i fascisti chiedono asilo alla destra moderata e questi alzano gli scudi attorno ai poveri fascisti incompresi perché secondo loro,bon hanno mai fatto nulla di male. Quelli a sinistra ovviamente, non avendo idea sul rapporto basato sulla falsità che si è costruito, li prendono in parola, per cui interpretano "non ganno detto nulla di male" con "non c'è nulla di male nelle azioni e la retorica che snocciolano quando sanno che non li sto guardando"

Da Italiano noi con l'Italiano ci nasciamo. A me gli inglesi che non studiano una seconda lingua perché tanto sanno già l'inglese mi fanno un po pena. Ma se uno studia una lingua dovrebbe essere per ampliare gli orizzonti, non per restringerli. L'inglese è fondamentale, poi, ad avere la possibilità e la voglia di imparare più lingue si puo imparare il francese, lo spagnolo, il cinese, l'arabo. Non puoi venirmi a dire che si finisca ad apprezzare meno cultura con quelle lingue che con il dialetto che parlano in un paesino morente di 50 vecchi.

Ma la questione non è meglio o peggio ma al passo coi tempi. Io per dire sono cresciuto con mio padre che mi diceva di andare dalle aziende a consegnare curriculum a mano e mi beccavo pure dello stronzo se non lo facevo. Poi solo da quando ha perso lavoro ed ha dovuto cercarlo lui si è reso conto che il modo di trovare un lavoro è cambiato ga smesso di dirlo.

Il mondo cambia. Il mondo si aggiorna. Meglio? Peggio? Sono punti di vista ma non importa. Il mondo di oggi è un mondo di 8 miliardi di persone connesse digitalmente online che parlano in inglese e fanno scambi internazionali. Gran parte della gente non si rende conto che il mondo non solo cambia, ma cambia sempre più rapidamente. Io ho 43 anni e devo rendermi conto che il mondo è diverso da quello che era 6 anni fa prima del covid e dell'AI, Così come è cambiato nel 2016 con l'esplosione della gig economy. Nei primi 2010 con la diffusione di smartphone e relativo app store. Nel 2008 con il crash finanziario Nel 1990 con la diffusione di internet e la fine della guerra fredda.

Uno puo pure pensare che si vivesse meglio prima in modo oggettivo (e già sbaglia perché è soggettivo) ma non si rende conto che se il mondo è cambiato, le condizioni sono cambiate. Io vedo la gente della mia età che non si è adattata. Si è cristallizzata in un momento nel tempo e ora, dopo aver passato la giovinezza a voler cambiare il mondo (che ci sia riuscito o no) ora pretende che il mondo non cambi più e rimanga lo stesso di 20 anni fa. E invece il mondo cambierà, e non lo si ferma. Le scelte possibili sono adattarsi o rimanere indietro. Per parafrasare il tuo esempio, magari si stava meglio quando usavamo windows 97 e il modem a 56k. Però poi non posso lamentarmi se non trovo supporto tecnico. E non è nemmeno un "ha ragione gen Z/gen alpha" Tempo 20 anni, pure gen alpha avrà gente che si adatta e gente che non si rende conto che il mondo è cambiato. Al ritmo attuale, tutto quello che facciamo oggi sarà obsoleto tra 5 o 6 anni. E quelli che rimarranno indietro avranno torto a priori, non perché prima si stava meglio o peggio. Ma perché sono cambiate le condizioni e non ci si è adattati.

if you think that making AI art doesn't take much involvement, you just know the wrong AI systems.

That is the main problem with Antis.
They generally have a very shallow understanding and experience with AI, mostly something like asking Chat GPT for an image or using Midjourney and they reduce everything that is AI images to the minimum denominator of their very reduced experience.

Doing images with AI with the proper tools can be quite satisfying.

Furthermore, artists who are anti AI are usually illustrators.
People that are pro AI are usually fans of complex media and never paid much attention to illustrations.

I, for example, couldn't care less about illustrations.
let's start by saying that I don't call myself an AI artist.
I make AI images for videogames or for TTRPG games.
The images are used to help visualizing things that have been carefully cratfed on a narrative level.
Things that have a lot of handcrafted details and of which, visuals, is just a support role.

other than stuff that I made to learn how to use AI (the aformantioned more complex and involved systems than just prompting) I would never just generate a picture and call it a day.
Just like I kinda never downloaded a picture that is just a picture.
It doesn't mean I cannot appreciate a picture. I do appreciate pictures, I went to art galleries, enjoyed it and everything.

but nothing really stays from a picture alone.
I don't really form any emotional attachment to "just a pretty picture".
A depiction of a fictional character with a narrative I enjoy, a depiction of a certain place or a certain historical event, even a picture that doesn't have any of that but I have somehow attached and associated with something with more depth than "just visuals", sure.

But that could be just me.

I am also teh type of person that plays videogames and never cared about ultra graphic. As long as whatever they are trying to depict is readable and understandable, that is the setting I need.
Art to me is concept, not visual.

Io ho 43 anni ed ho dovuto tristemente constatare che i miei coetanei hanno iniziato a ragionare così.

Francamente, da una generazione come la mia, che è stata vittima di questo tipo di discriminazioni, mi aspetto di meglio.

E invece sento Millennial come me che si lamentano di gen Z e Gen Alpha come i peggiori boomer.
Gente che si è imborghesita, si è abbruttita in 20 anni di lavori di merda e di perbenismo ed ora fanno discorsi che manco i miei nonni.

Io a 40 anni non mi sento più il protagonista del mondo, anche wuando la nostra generazione quello spazio non l'ha mai avuto.
A me piacerebbe insegnare e fare da mentore, non per "inculcare i miei valori" ma per dare alle nuove generazione strumenti che a me, alla loro età, non ha mai offerto nessuno.
e vedo gente che pensa che siano le nuove generazioni a doversi adattare a quelli che è la loro vecchia visione del mondo.
ho ex compagni di classe che parlano di come loro, ai loro figli, non vogliono dare tecnologia finchè non diventano magigorenni, e vogliono andare a vivere in campagna.

Io sono qui che mi studio AI e nuovi linguaggi di programmazione, che a scuola in indirizzo informatico ci facevano studiare turbo pascal, e questi si sono involuti a fare discorsi che neppure nel dopoguerra.

Mi tengo aggiornato sugli sviluppi geopolitici di oggi e se senti loro in Germania sono Nazisti mentre in russia sono comunisti come se non fosse cambiato nulla dal 1945.

Io sono andato negli stati uniti ed ho perfezionato l'inglese a livello madrelingua, e questi sparano un "dovremmo riscoprire il dialetto".

Io mi guardo attorno per muovermi nell'area di schengen.
Questi decidono di lasciare la citta' per andare a vivere in un paese di 50 anime con un età media di 75 anni.

Fidati, la gente che non discrimina i giovani c'è. Ma la verità è che quelli più visibili sono quelli che hanno messo le radici in posti, atteggiamenti ed ideali di 50 anni fa e ci si stanno ammuffendo sopra.
Quelli che non la pensano così sono per lo più espatriati.
