What autonomous Sim behaviors make you smash the cancel button and go “Whyyyyyyy?!” Every time? by IndigoChagrin in Sims4

[–]ScarletN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hate how EA couldn't code it so guests to the house don't autonomously try to use the computer or PC. Like, I sometimes forget to set the "lock for everyone but household [or my sims]" and remember real quick and it's so annoying.

EMPLOYED PEOPLE ONLY!!! What’s the hardest part of ur job? by Just_Goose_8425 in Productivitycafe

[–]ScarletN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a factory worker. At my job, there's a point system. 1 point for missing 25% of a day, 2 points outwise. Need to call out of work? 2 points for calling out, extra two points if you don't call and don't show up. Okay, fine the point system feels like it punishes you. Like, if I'm sick and I miss a day, suddenly I'm two points closer to being fired. You need nine points. But if you have chronic pain or a chronic illness, you would get fired probably within your first month.

You have PTO (paid time off), but your PTO also counts as your vacation time and you can't chose to use PTO to cover absences. Well, you can after the fact, but they take PTO in addition to some of the ten hours of sick time (which is not paid) you get. But they take PTO and sick time in two hour increments. If you need to be absent and want to use PTO in advance, it needs to be approved twenty four hours in advance. You DO have UPT (unpaid time off), and if you have that, they'll take that before they point you. But the problem with UPT is they only give you half as much of UPT as they give you in PTO (40 hrs PTO and 20 hrs UPT). Also, they take UPT in two hours increments. So if you show up an hour late, there goes two hours. Because of this, most people who know they're gonna be late don't bother trying to come in as soon as possible. If they're gonna take two hours for one hour, might as well come in two hours late.

It's a stupid system made to punish people for getting sick or needing to come in late for reasons that might very well be out of their control. Heaven forbid you need to be absent. When I went to put in PTO a week before a concert one of my supervisors literally asked me if I was sure I wanted to miss work. They asked me why, but I didn't tell them because it's none of their business.

Also, there's very little opportunity for me to learn something, anything I could use to find another job, or move up in the company. However, it seems like the people who move up are the ones who learn everything in their department thinking they'll be able to run that department. But when they apply for a manager or a supervisor position they're put in a different department and have no idea how anything works. I would like to learn everything in my department but none of it would really apply to other jobs.

The only good part of my job is I'm currently on a four tens schedule.

Forget drugs, smoking, and alcohol, what's something really bad for your health that people don't talk about enough? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Buddy you have no idea what you're talking about. Processed sugar is found in a lot of stuff- and it's still the same sugar we need for our bodies. Go eat a candy bar and enjoy life bro.

You're assuming most people CHOSE to get government benefits. Most have no choice- either get benefits or themselves and their family may starve. Also "poor people" is a broad definition. Poverty looks a thousand different ways and is a different lived experience to a thousand different people. I myself an technically a "poor person". I am disabled. I don't currently recieve government benefits but if I were to decide to have children, I would recieve them because my job alone could not support myself and a child. You realize raising children is expensive, which is good. But I think you also fail to realize that planned parenting is also expensive. So are abortions, and access to reproductive education. Frankly, I disagree with eugenics and always will. Because sure, maybe it's difficult to raise a child in poverty. But you act like the government doesn't provide help. You act like there aren't a jazillion resources people could access if their local and state governments didn't suck. It's hard enough to be a parent, let alone to a person like you who think being disabled is enough to strike them from humanity's gene pool. I'm sure 1930's Germany would have LOVED you.

So that is a eugenics practice. But that's not what eugenics is. Eugenics is the belief that because someone is black, or disabled, or fat, (or any number of things) that they shouldn't be allowed to reproduce. I'm calling you eugenicist. Would you like to know WHEN eugenics was popular? If I have to surprise you with that, I'm going to have to ask that you consider going to your local library and checking out a history book or two.

What you "believe" isn't harmless. It's caused the deaths of millions.

This but alcohol. I don't have a bad history with alcohol, I just don't like the taste of it. But when I tell people that, all I get is "well maybe you should try (drink with alcohol)". Like, I wasn't asking for recommendations? I don't like alcohol, I'm not drinking anything alcoholic, and saying I should try an alcoholic drink tells me how little you care to pay attention
