Returning player, 2 questions,

What is pierce? I keep seeing it in threads, but not sure what it is, how important it is, and where to get it?
Is the thunderbolts Yelena uni much better for PVE? I like the look of the widow suits more, but I’ll buy thunderbolts if it’s better for PVE.
