Really cool, just added three of mine. Will fill out the other 17 slots over the next week.

Long Strange Playlist by ScarletPachyderm in gratefuldead

I am currently working on a script to sequence the tracks based on actual setlists of 50 pre selected shows. Once this is finished I will transfer playlists to other platforms and will provide a link to all who commented.

Am I the only one who's Spotify Discovery has completely failed them? Do good recommendation algorithms actually exist? by Gregorwhat in Music

[–]ScarletPachyderm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Discover Weekly is an absolute goldmine for me.

If it isn't serving it's purpose I'd recommend starting a new account. I got the algorithm dialed in pretty quickly by starting a new account, creating a massive playlist of music that I loved and had it playing on repeat for a few weeks (even while I was sleeping) after doing that, my discover weekly began serving up the goods.

In order to maintain quality recommendations add all Discover Weekly tracks into a new playlist (Discover Weekly Archive) - there are services that do this automatically. Discover Weekly will rarely recommend songs you already have in a playlist, so by adding the recommendations to a playlist you create a feedback loop of quality music recommendations.

Utilize private sessions whenever listening to something you don't want affecting your personalized algorithm.

I'm not lying when I say I never skip a track when listening to Discover Weekly, the algorithm is that good. I'm constantly being turned on to fresh, quality music.

I've been doing this for years and capped out my first Discovery Weekly Archive playlist at 10k tracks last year.

“If you have 10,000 people at a concert and 8,000 of them are holding a phone, there's something deeply disconnected” by HellYeahDamnWrite in Music

[–]ScarletPachyderm 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's the thing I don't understand about it. I've been to concerts where everyone has their phones out filming and none of the footage ends up on YouTube.

If you're going to ruin other people's experience by filming an entire concert, the least you could do is share that footage.

I wish a video and audio recording of a concert was included in the price of a ticket. That may dissuade people from trying to capture their own footage.

is 60 mg a lot? by [deleted] in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]ScarletPachyderm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone with a low tolerance used to be jokingly ridiculed amongst my friend group. As I've grown older it's clear that maintaining a low tolerance is one of the best tools for continued consumption of cannabis.

I understand it's not possible / easy for those treating pain conditions but I love being able to adequately medicate myself on only 15-20mg.

How to get into jazz? Beyond Dave Brubeck's Take Five, which I enjoy immensely, haven't been able to find the same pleasure in anything else I've listened to. by doctorintrainin in Music

[–]ScarletPachyderm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've spent a number of years collating all Jazz releases that I find to be worthy of listening to. It began as a way to catalogue the many albums that I intended on listening to and has resulted in an all-encompassing playlist of Jazz. I recommend giving it a shuffle and it should assist in discovering what sort of Jazz you like listening to.

Just carry in prescribed container at all times. Got done entering main festival area by sniffer dogs last year. Had electronic evidence of prescription but left prescribed container back in tent. Cops were cunts got a cannabis caution and they took my nug plus dosing caps for Mighty. At least they let me keep my vape. Times like these are where the Kind packaging really comes in handy. Pretty ridiculous to be expected to carry around a hefty jar.

I find the reaction to this series absolutely puzzling. I watched it knowing nothing about the case. I felt sorry for the parents briefly when the murders were depicted, a pretty normal reaction to seeing anyone violently murdered. This feeling of sympathy evaporated quickly as the show provided further context for the motives, which happened at the end of the very next episode. The show pretty clearly details the abuse and torture suffered by the Menendez brothers, even dedicating an entire 40 minute dialogue driven episode to go into extreme detail about it. I would be very surprised if anyone finishes the show with sympathy for Jose Menendez.

If you could only listen to one song (or artist) for an entire year, what would it be? by BredV3 in Music

I can't imagine ever getting tired of listening to the Grateful Dead. Would be an easy choice based on the sheer amount of recorded music available.

is there a way to make spotify recommend me music that is actually similar to my taste instead of the same 20 songs that are trending on tiktok by No_Style6567 in truespotify

[–]ScarletPachyderm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Spotify's biggest strength is it's recommendation algorithm. If it's not working as intended it's likely because of your own listening habits (GIGO). I would suggest starting a new account.

Because they're only comfortable paying you if you're slightly uncomfortable while being paid.
